When Jesper gets home from work at the library, I immediately feel ten times more excited to go to IKEA with everyone.
"Has Kaz shown up?" He asks while putting his satchel on the linoleum counter.
"Yeah, he's upstairs getting his stuff in order. I don't even know why he's bothering. He's gotta know what Matthias will do as soon as we get back from the store."
"What am I gonna do?" Matthias asks as he walks down the stairs with Nina and Kaz right behind him.
"Oh, nothing," Jesper and I say in unison. We can't help but to smile at each other after we do it.
"Well, who's ready to turn my room into a sanctuary!" Kaz exclaims while clasping his hands together excitedly.
"Really!?" Matthias asks.
"No you big goof," Kaz rolls his eyes.
Once everyone is ready to go we pile into Jesper's van and head to IKEA. It's a bit squished but Jes and I get the front so I'm happy. Kaz is squished against the window next to Matthias.
"Where's Inej?" Kaz asks while looking at no one in particular.
"She's gonna meet us there," Nina answers. "We don't have enough room in the back for her and all the stuff were getting," she smirks.
Kaz doesn't say anything.
I hope they figure things out soon. Kaz seemed so much more happy and open when he was with Inej. It's just sad to see him closed and shut off like this without her.
Inej does live with us technically, but she's usually out at work, or helping her family, or (from my observations) going on dates. I don't think Kaz knows that, but in Inej's eyes neither do I.
"Do they have food at IKEA?" Jesper interrupts my thoughts. "I'm starving."
"YES," Matthias says way too enthusiastically. "Only the best Swedish meatballs and amazing snacks."
"Well let's speed up a bit," Jesper replies while smirking at Matthias' nerdy-ness.
We all love dorky Matthias.
