Really, Will? (Gabriel/Cecily)

Cecily gazed at herself in the ornate bronze mirror, her violet blue eyes moving as she studied her dress. It was gold, the traditional colour for a Shadowhunter wedding. Shadowhunters didn't marry in white, because they still believed it to be the colour of mourning. The corset was tight, showing off her curves, while the long skirt flared out from her petite waist and trailed along the ground. The front of her dress was shaped to reveal the skin over her heart where she was to be marked. Her hair was loose, with a few strands braided back to fall down the back of her head.

"You look beautiful, Cecily," the brunette girl said, a smile on her face as she finished tightening the strings on the bride's corset.

"Thank you, Tessa," Cecily said, sending her sister-in-law a grateful smile. Tessa nodded, stepping away.

"Gabriel is getting a stunning wife," Tessa stated, her grey eyes mischievous. Cecily had always thought the girl was rather plain looking yet beautiful in her own way, and somehow pregnancy was giving her a glow in her cheeks she didn't usually have.

"Will got one," Cecily replied, causing the older girl to blush. "But thank you, Tessa."

"I'll go get Will," the brunette said, vanishing from the room. Cecily let out a sigh, her gaze moving to the ring on her left hand. The family crest of the Lightwoods adorned it, making a smile play on her lips. She pictured Gabriel standing there in his ceremonial black gear, the golden runes covering the material and his green eyes fixed on her as she walked down the aisle.

"Cecy," her brother's voice said, breaking her from her trance. She glanced up to see Will standing by the door, a smile on his lips. "You look beautiful. Better than your fiancé deserves. You could run away, you know. Leave him at the altar."

"Will," the younger girl laughed. "Do be quiet. I do actually want to marry him."

Will's smile dropped. "Really? That's a shame."

Cecily rolled her eyes at her brother, walking towards the door. "Come on. I'm getting married, Will. At least pretend to be nice."

"Pretending is dull," Will declared, but plastered a smile on his face anyway. "By the Angel, cariad. You look so grown up. Dad and Mam would be so proud of you."

Cecily felt tears in her eyes as he spoke. "Will-"

"I'm glad you are happy, Cecy," her brother continued. "As long as that remains true, I know he deserves you."

"Thank you, Will," she said, her voice cracking with emotion. After he'd discovered that his curse was fake, Will had opened up so much more, turning into the boy she'd grown up with.

"Just promise you won't forget about me, Cecy," he said, his eyes filled with concern. "I'm your brother, and I love you."

"Oh Will," she said, embracing him. She didn't care if the embrace crinkled her dress; she missed her brother. "I would never forget you."

He pulled her closer, planting a gentle kiss on the top of her head. "Well then, cariad," he said, moving away. "Time for you to get married."

Cecily smiled at him, happily sliding her arm through his. As she walked out, she could feel herself shaking. As much as she loved Gabriel, she was terrified he'd leave her. She trusted the younger Lightwood with her life and her heart, but she still worried that it would get broken.

"Cecy," Will said as they neared the ceremony. "I'll ask Charlotte if you and Lightworm- I mean Lightwood, can visit Dad and Mam tonight. I'm sure they'll be happy to see you."
