"You don't know?" Ryan asked with an underlining tone that made Greg both nervous and angry. Still, Greg kept his head up in his own personal act of defiance. "I see..."
"Ryan lemme just waste the damned thing and be done with it," Sixx said, obviously ready to pounce on Greg again.
"Calm down Sixx," Ryan said getting up from behind his desk.
He walked around the desk with an eerie sort of grace. Yet somehow, his footsteps sounded as loud as they would on hardwood flooring. Ryan walked past Greg's sofa-barely even acknowledging him-and as if out of habit both Sixx and Sonya followed after him. Greg not knowing quite what to do with himself merely sat on the couch and waited. Behind him he heard what sounded like glass being moved, and for some strange reason he felt a chill run up his spine.
"Greg would you mind coming over here please?" Ryan asked, his voice returning to the soft inviting voice he used upstairs. Greg moved to get up, but another harsh chill went up his spine and he froze. "It's okay, no one's going to hurt you."
Hesitantly Greg got off the couch and he turned around to see all three of them standing around a small post. That wasn't there before was it, Greg thought to himself before timidly walking over to them. He reach the small stone post and as soon as he did another even harsher chill went through him. Ryan seemed to notice but he didn't bother asking if he was cold. Instead he nodded down towards the post before him. Catching the subtle gesture Greg let his eyes go down.
As soon as his eyes made contact with the top of the small stone object resting on the post, his whole body was under attack by a barage of shivers and tingles so intense he shook. At the sight of movement Sonya and Sixx both tensed up, like they were expecting Greg to attack. Ryan though never moved not even a little, he just kept his steady brown gaze on Greg like he was expecting something. But what. Greg actually had no idea what he was suppose to do here. His chlls weren't coming anymore, but still the others seemed on guard.
Ryan was the first to break the tense silence. "Do you know what this is?"Greg tore his gaze from the little stone sphere and looked up at Ryan curiously. "No? Well then that answers that."
"What?" Sixx cried throwing his arms up he shouted. "Just like that?!"
"Wait answers what" Greg asked feeling rather confused. "Ryan what're you-"
Withou answering Ryan lifted his hand and placed a small glass cylinder over the sphere. Once the sphere was covered, Ryan tapped the side of the post with his boot. At first nothing happened then all of a sudden the post dropped down into the floor so fast that if Greg blinked he would've missed it. Greg watched as the floor boards began to shift, and eventually the floor looked normal. Carpeting and all.
"Sonya, will you please take your brother, and go help Lissa with dinner?" Ryan asked gently. With a slight nod Sonya turned around and began walking.
Sixx on the other hand stood where he was, with his arms crossed stubbornly. "Long as he's here I'm not-" He began but broke off as his hat was quickly swiped off his head, revealing a blond head of hair. Sixx whipped around just as Sonya hurried around the corner of the door. "Bitch!"
And just like that Sixx was gone racing after Sonya, leaving Greg alone with Ryan. "Oh I wish those two could go at least one day without swearing at eachother." Ryan said running a hand through his hair he propped himself against his desk. "So, let me tell you what actually happened to your friend Kathy."
That alone caught Greg's attention, he'd been wanting to ask about her since he rememered her. He needed to know she was okay, mostly because he didn't want another girl's death on his hands. Greg slowly sat down and gave Ryan his full attention.
