Sent to the Dark

*WHIP*

A ten year old boy was being whipped to a pulp by his father because he accidentally broke a plate he used for eating lunch.

Father: YOU BROKE IT! DO YOU KNOW HOW OLD THAT WAS?! THAT IS OVER FIVE YEARS OLD, DAMMIT!

(Y/N): I'm sorry. I swear I will not do it ever again!

Father: Shut Up!

*WHIP*

The man then drags (Y/N) to a open well.

Father: I'm sending back in there so you can learn your goddamn lesson.

(Y/N) No. No! I don't wanna go back in there! Please, don't this! Please! PLEASE!!!

Father: Shut your fucking mouth, boy. You will learn why you must serve me!

He then throws (Y/N) down the well.

(Y/N): NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

His scream grows fainter as he falls to the bottom. After falling, (Y/N) looks up to see his Father close the well with a bronze grate. He starts shaking in fear when he sees the bats waking up as one screeches.

(Y/N): *screams*

The bats then surround the boy into their shadow.

(Time Skip)

It was now tomorrow. (Y/N) is curled into a ball as he silently cries into his knees with the small sunlight illuminating above him. He hears the flapping of a wing as he looks left to see a bat looking at him. As the bat stares directly into his soul, (Y/N) pulls out one finger, and slowly moves it toward the bat. As his finger as getting closer, the bat screeches in warning as (Y/N) flinches and motions his finger back. He does it again, more slowly, and stops sometimes. Almost like forming a bond with the creature of the night.

(Y/N) It's okay...I won't hurt you. Trust me.

The bat stays still, (Y/N)'s finger almost tp the forehead, and...he pets it. He has earned the bat's trust which made smile a bit. He starts petting it slowly as the other bats watch in silence at the sight before them.
