Emma's POV
There are some perks living with your family, but there are also some negatives; for example, some perks are they got your back no matter what, since they're your family they already know everything about you, and you get to use their clothes. Now the negative part about living with your family is that they steal your clothes, they have no boundaries, they snoop around.
Elena's snooping is the reason that I am laying on my bed, listening to music, with the window open so I smell of the rain. I wonder if Claires doing a better job at focusing with her test that she's doing then me with this stupid essay. To be honest, I don't even know what I'm writing here, I just know that it's for my theatre class, which for some reason my teacher wanted us to write so we would have a historical background on all of the greatest theatre plays and what the true meaning is to them and what this play means to us. She gave me the famous Romeo and Juliet, so here we are; me writing a stupid 10,000-word essay.
I get up, giving up on my essay for a moment and walk over to Claire's room. Me being family, I have no boundaries and just waltz into her room, "Claire, I'm bored; hey Brent."
I casually sit down in one of Claire's chairs and looks at the two, "wait aren't you at least surprised that I'm in here?"
"Nah I heard you come in through the window, and I know that Elena doesn't know. Besides she's not our mom or anything, we can do whatever we want, just as long as we follow the certain rules that were set."
Brent looked at Claire and I with amusement, "oh really? What are these rules?"
Claire and I speak in an auto tone since we're so used to them, "pay rent, don't break anything, if you have a party let her know, school and work are above anything else, and no friends or boyfriends over when school work needs to be done."
Brent just shook his head before going back to his phone, " I came in here hoping to see if you were doing a better job with your test then I was with my essay, but apparently I have seen that you're doing just fine."
"Emma's right, your not even half way done with your test, I'll pick you up later tonight."
Brent gets up from her bed and opened up the window, while Claire gave him his raincoat and muddy rain boots. After a quick goodbye and a peck on the cheek he was gone, I watch her as she watches him climb down the ladder. I walk over to her and lean out the window, "Oh Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse the name; Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I'll no longer be a Capulet." I say in a dramatic voice as I look at him, smiling knowing he would have no clue what I'm saying. He looks up at me smirking.
"Shall I hear more, or shall I speak at this? With love's light wings did I o'erperch these walls, for stony limits, cannot hold love out, and what love can do, that dares love attempt: therefore thy kinsmen are no stop to me."
Claire and I look at him shocked, "how the hell do you know Romeo?"
He laughed why landing on the muddy ground before looking up at us, "I had to take theatre for an extra credit class and I was forced to play Romeo."
I look at him impressed, "hmm"
"A thousand times the worse, to want thy light. Love goes toward love, as schoolboys from their books, but love from love, toward school with heavy looks."
I laugh at this and head back into her room before Claire closes her window I hear a faint, "bye baby!" from Brent.
"I have to admit, I have a new found respect for that guy. You have my blessing to date him."
Clair's laughs while sitting back on her bed, "I thought I already had your blessing?"
"Nope, but now you do. Anyways I came in here to ask how you were doing on your test, but as I can see I'm doing way better than you."
She throws a pillow at me as I head towards the door, of course, me being me, I ducked. I laugh and look back at her to comment that she missed only for her to throw a pillow again and it hits me in the face. It's her turn to laugh as I turn around only the walk right into the side on the door.
"That's gonna leave a bruise."
I rub my forehead as I walk out the door and make my way to my room.
"Oh, by the way, I would clean that mud on your carpet before it stains. Elena will have your ass."
I yell as I walk back into my room and jump onto my bed, looking back at my stupid computer trying to figure out what else to write. Ugh, I have written everything that I know of on Romeo and Juliet and I only have 6,000 words. I could always call Luke and ask if he could come over, but then again Elena has us on lockdown - stupid Elena - then again I could get Luke here the same way Brent got into the house. Of course, I would have to make sure that Elena is doing something that she would be too distracted to worry about a sound or anything.
E: Hey babe, are you busy right now?
L: Nope, just watching Shrek.
E: I love that movie! Anyways I texted you for a reason, would you like to sneak into my room?
L: Um... look, Emma, I love you, don't get me wrong but I don't really think that we're quite ready for that just yet.
E: Woah, hey calm down. Hahaha, I never meant it like that, I just meant that I'm bored and am having trouble writing my essay so I was thinking you could help me write it and then we could spend some time together watching Game of Thrones or something.
L: Oh... that's awkward... yea I think I can come over but I don't understand why I have to sneak over there.
E: Because my sister is being an ass and has us on lockdown, so I say that you use the ladder that Brent used to go into Claire's room and go sneak into my room, be careful though because it's still pouring outside and the ladders wet so just be careful, please. Be quiet so Elena doesn't hear you.
L: Alright, be there in 10 minutes
I set down my phone and ran down the stairs, entering the living room I saw that Elena was passed out on the couch with the tv still on. I go to the kitchen to grab a glass of water then head back up into my room.
When I get back into the room I check my window to see if Luke is there or not. With my luck he is and he is currently climbing up the ladder, I quickly run into my bathroom and get a towel and put it under my window. Right, when I'm done placing it on the floor Luke comes in.
"Hey, babe."
We kiss each other and then make our way onto my bed, "ok so what do you have so far?" I shove my computer at him and he reads over it.
"So your writing about Romeo and Juliet?"
"Yup."
"You know that Brent had to be in the play of Romeo and Juliet and he had to be Romeo. Man, I remember he was so disgusted by Juliet because she had all the zit, and glasses, and braces and Brent just was not having it, especially when he found out he had to kiss her. Of course a week or two before opening night, she walks in looking like a million bucks; all of her zits were gone, she got her braces off, and she got contacts. Brent was so happy and in his words and I quote 'damn, she got hot.' After that, he had no problem kissing her."
"Well... that's definitely interesting, anyway help me I don't know what else I can write about."
He picks up the computer and scoots over to the head of my bed and starts typing away, I join him and start reading what he is typing. Before I know it he's at 9,000 words, I look up at him shocked, "how do you know about all of this?"
He shrugs his shoulders, "I don't really, I helped Brent out on his lines so many times that I could play the part so I'm just writing down lines and explaining what they mean and how they feel when they say it. The rest I'm just making up crap because let's be honest your teacher is not going to read 100 plus essays that are 10,000 words long."
"You're a genius!"
We printed out my, well I should say our essay and put it in my backpack. I walk back to my bed and lay on Lukes' chest as we watch Game of Thrones.
