*The King's POV*

The King's emotions get felt like they were being dragged through mud and then sand and then hot coals. He dragged his hands down his face, muttering incoherent thoughts.

How could he have let this happen again. First his daughter had died. Then the towns girl he had picked to replace her got attacked by rebels and was forced to wander around a forest.

Then after fixing all the problems standing in the way of his plan, she got kidnapped by the .

He was simultaneously frustrated with the rebels and in utter awe at their determination, drive, and abilities. He hated that he had let her be taken from him.

Normally he would send some guards after them to save her, but Sean was MIA and Carson and Matt had turned up missing after the attack.

Through all the bad the day had brought him he was glad that his wife and Ravenna were not hurt and that none of the townspeople were harmed or kidnapped.

He knew that he needed to formulate a plan, and a good one at that. He would also need to make an announcement to the entire kingdom before too long, so as to smooth over the distraught aristocrats and commoners alike.

What was he going to do? What was he going to say?

He paced down the long corridor of the west wing to his office. There sat the same advisors that had helped him pick Charlotte to be the crown princess.

"Alright, let's get to it! We are on a time crunch. Any ideas?"

The table erupted into a cacophony of voices all fighting to be heard. The King melted into his chair at the head of the table and turned his head towards the windows covering the wall opposite his chair.

He let his thoughts take over his mind for the time being as his advisors fought it out. At this stage it was pointless for him to even try to stay caught up because all the ideas would either be scrapped because of poor quality or evolve into a better idea.

King Amir almost laughed at the irony of the weather. Though it felt like everything was falling apart, the sun was still shining and there were only a few clouds in the sky.

He tried to find hidden messages or shapes that would lead him to Charlotte amongst the clouds but all he saw was cotton candy and sheep.

Soon the cacophony died down to just a few voices battling it out, so the King tuned back in to the conversation.

"That would be pointless, Stephan." One voice said with irritation.

"It's better than your "brilliant" plan, Brian." Stephan retorted.

From the back Riebus once again piped up. "I think it would be best to send a few guards out, however it is a very dangerous mission to send them into the hands of the rebels. I think that other than the few guards we should wait a few days and see what happens."

The room erupted once again, "Quiet! Let him finish." The King stood up to demand.

The peace advisor shifted in his seat uneasily, "I know this seems controversial, but I am positive they don't want her dead. The worst thing that could happen at this point is that she remembers her past and turns against us. It seems to me that our best bet is to wait for the right moment to strike and I don't think now is that time."

The King took a glance around the room and saw some heads shaking in agreement. Some of the advisors were still unsteady but most seemed to be okay with Riebus' idea. "Okay, we will send 3 soldiers out to try and hunt the rebels down. We will follow the peace advisors' plan until further notice. If any of you hear anything about this, whether you think it's a rumor or not, you are to come directly to me. Now, you are all free to go." The king stalked out of the office with a nod of his head and the swish of his cloak.

You couldn't guess it if you saw him, but he was scared out of his mind by the fact that he may never get Charlotte back.
