Chapter 5... Step One: Trust

Kevin slept on the couch. Liam sat in the kitchen talking with the pack. The girl and the pack leader argued in the other room. "She's pretty brave to argue with the leader like that." Liam said. A few of them chuckled.
"It seems brave but only when you can stand against him without flinching." Minseok said.
"Is she an alpha?"
"No." Sehun said.
"Might as well be." Minseok said "She's strong like one. They buttheads a lot."
"She takes charge. Second in command?"
"It was me that was second in command but she's so much stronger. I had no problem with giving up my spot." Junmyeon said.
Wimp Liam picked up Suho's thought from the other side.
"The alpha and beta are supposed to be the strongest two out of the pack. Your beta is stronger then the average. She could over throw your leader if she wanted to."
"I don't think so Liam. (Y/n) is not the over throw type." Sehun said.
"But in the future, if the two of them ever separated because they had differences on a big decision, would any of you hesitate to side with her?"
"If her idea was better or if she knew better, sure." Junmyeon said.
"I will always side with her." Minseok said. They looked at him. "I trust her. She thinks before she acts, she's not impulsive. Kris can be very impulsive. Especially when he's angry."
"You got that right." Liam mumbled.
"What was that?" Minseok asked.
"I said, is that right? Kevin can also be pretty impulsive." They heard a low grunt from Kevin on the couch. Liam smiled knowing he heard him. "How many people are in your pack?"
"13 members. So is it just the two of you?" Kyungsoo asked. Liam shook his head. "We're a part of a coven of witches."
"All male?" He asked. Liam chuckled.
"There are female's too. It was just a coven started by men. Mother's passing on their powers and teachings to their male children."
"Why the males?"
"Because that's what their first borns were. The first born children are always the strongest. You're the eldest child aren't you Minseok?"
"How can you tell?"
"It's an energy you give off. A strong, older child energy." The front door opened.
"Hey guys we're back."
"Luhan, Jongin." Kyungsoo greeted them. Liam looked at Luhan. Mirror image of me. He thought. They carried in bags of groceries. "Where's Jongdae?" Minseok asked.
"Right here." Liam looked at him wide eyed. "Chen." He whispered. I have to admit that I kind of missed that jerk. Liam thought. He took the bag from Jongdae.
"Let me help you with that."
"Thanks… Who are you?"
"Oh I'm Liam. It's good to meet you."
"Yeah you too." Jongdae looked at Minseok. He shrugged. "That's my friend Kevin on the couch. We're the ones who called earlier."
"You guys were the ones calling for help?" Liam nodded. "Yes. That was us. We're-"
"You're no better then any of us!" (Y/n) yelled from the room. Everyone looked at the door. "What are they arguing about now?" Luhan asked. Kevin chuckled "Us I'm sure." He stood up. "Are you feeling better?" Yixing asked. He looked at Kevin's side. "You're fully healed but I always like to check again to be sure." Kevin nodded. "I'm fine." He looked around. "My name is Kevin. Thank you guys for helping us."
"You should thank (y/n). She's the reason we did."
"I'd like to thank her when she's free."
"I'm sure she'll be out soon. Let me introduce us." Junmyeon stepped forward "My name is Junmyeon. This is Sehun, Jongin, Yixing, Minseok, Luhan, Jongdae. In the room (y/n) and our leader, Kris are talking. The rest of us aren't here. They went out to... Where'd they go?"
"They went out to "have some fun" as Chanyeol put it." Luhan answered. He unpacked the groceries with Sehun and Jongdae. "Well since the food is here, I guess I'll should start dinner."
"No!" Everyone yelled.
"You know you can't cook." Kyungsoo said.
"Neither can Baekhyun but you guys let him try."
"We were thinking we'd order out." Minseok patted Luhan on the shoulder and grabbed the box of take out menus in the kitchen cabinet.
"So what's on tonight's menu?" Jongdae asked.

~Later that night~

"It was weird seeing Chen earlier." Liam mumbled. Kevin nodded in agreement. "Yes. He's been dead awhile." "Even hearing his voice is weird. He still sounds as dumb as ever."
"That ugly laugh." Kris added. Liam smiled to himself.
"We'll find a way to bring our Chen back. We're going to need him."
"He's been gone too long Kr- er, Kevin. He's probably crossed over."
"I doubt it. He wants to be a part of the finale showdown. Death wouldn't stop him."
"He'll kill them all without breaking a sweat if he has this Chen's powers." He looked at Kevin. "Can you just feel everyone's energy? They are all so strong. Much stronger than us." He said annoyed. Kevin grunted in agreement. "Not for too much longer. We'll start with Kris. With him out of the way we'll be able to force ourselves in much quicker."
"I wasn't able to hear what (y/n) and Kris was arguing about."
"It was about us."
"I know but what exactly was it that they arguing about. They were in there for over an hour."

~Earlier~

"What exactly prompted you to go against what I said (y/n)?"
"Maybe the fact that someone was hurt? Kevin could've died!"
"That wouldn't have been our problem."
"Yes it would've. They called out to us for help."
"If you were so worried, you could've call the hospital."
"We have an in house healer that-"
"Now they're in our house too."
"Yixing wanted to bring him back here. So he could finish healing him without us getting exposed. You're so dramatic and it's annoying how you don't want to listen to other people's opinions and feelings. Will you ever grow out of this 'only I can make the rules' ego of yours?"
"No because it's true. Only I make the rules here. I deemed it unsafe to go out there and help them. You might have just invited evil into our home!"
"Wow. Kris you're no better then any of us! At least we were trying to do some good. And evil? We never once had to fight evil. It's not gonna happen now."
"You don't understand-"
"No you don't understand! You try to control us like we're your pets. You keep barking commands at us expecting us to follow along without question and for the most part we have. But this time we knew that going against you was better, I knew it was better."
"You're so impulsive."
"The irony. That's so hilarious coming from you. The most impulsive of us all."
"I wouldn't expect someone who can't even reach her inner wolf to understand!"
"Are you gonna bring that up every fight we have!"
"Yes! Now stand down!" He yelled. (Y/n) stared at him angrily before leaving his room and slamming the door behind her.
