Peter when you were breaking up with him because you wanted to keep him safe. You two had been together for years and you loved him so much more than you could ever put into words. He was the one who kept you grounded and the one who cared for you the most. He was always so kind and supportive and loving of you.
However, being Steve Rogers' only daughter and having incredible powers meant that you fought with the Avengers. This meant that Peter could be used as a weakness against you which you didn't want to happen. You decided that for the safety of Peter you should break up with him.
You went to his flat in Queens to do it because you wanted to be there and explain it to him properly so that you didn't feel as bad. You turned up just before his school day would have been over giving you about 30 minutes before he would be home. Luckily Aunt May was at the flat, so you didn't have to let yourself in. Aunt May didn't know about you being part of The Avengers and you didn't wish for her to find out any time soon.
When Peter got home, he went straight to his room which was where you were waiting for him. You felt awful about the fact that you had break up with your long-term boyfriend.
"Y/N/N?" He asked in a joyful tone, a huge smile found its way to his tired looking face.
"Peter," You addressed him using his full name which you never did. This caused the smile on his face to drop into a bit of a frown.
"Y/N, you never use my full name, what's up?"
"I'm sorry Peter baby, I-" You paused trying to get the words out of your mouth, tears forming in your eyes. You could tell he knew what you were about to say because his eyes became glassy as well. "Peter, I'm breaking up with you. I love you so much and know that I really do not want to do this but it's because I love you that I have to."
"Y/N, you don't have to. I love you so much, I'll do anything. I don't want to lose you. Not now, not ever." He pleaded, tears now rolling down both of your cheeks.
"I have to, to keep you safe. I don't know what I'd do with myself if you got hurt or even worse, killed." You replied looking deeply into his eyes with sorrow and sadness.
"I can't, I can't let you leave me Y/N. I love you Y/N Y/L/N!"
"I love you too Peter Parker and I will never forget you. I will think about you until my very last breath but promise me Pete, promise me you'll move on!" You begged.
Peter nodded slowly, and his face completely fell realizing this was happening and there was no way to stop it. You grabbed him and wrapped your arms around him for one last time. You placed a small kiss on his cheek before opening the door and leaving, going straight past May and ignoring her questions.
