Is Jane going crazy? She thinks the new vamp likes ME? Vampires can read minds, so I'm sure the new guy knew exactly what she was thinking by now. I felt my cheeks burn with embarrassment as I looked about the crowd-away from the new boy. And of course, as expected, I see my ex boyfriend.

We have nothing against each other, really-besides the fact that he cheated on me and broke my heart into little tiny pieces. Not that big of a deal, right?Yeah, I wish. But he looked different now. He was a little taller, but he looked pale. Vampires are supposed to be pale. Yeah, I know that, but he looked unhealthily pale. His cheek bones were extremely hollow and his eyes weren't red-like they were supposed to be.

And that's when I realized it. They weren't here to hurt us, but to protect us. I could tell Pierce, my ex boyfriend, had gotten into a fight with a shapeshifter. As I looked around the gang, they'd ALL gotten into a fight.

Five minutes of silence pass, well for mortals that couldn't hear anything. But we were all communicating telepathically. Why were they being so nice to us all of a sudden? They tried to kill us a week ago, and now they're all unicorns and rainbows. Umm....suspicious much?

Worry spread across all of their faces, even Jake's (the totally cute newbie...what, it's true.)

In an instant I knew what they were seeing. Shapeshifter visions. The visions served as a warning to us, and we left instantly. We knew the only place we'd be safe was at the new campsite-the place I DREADED to go to. But, like always, being the youngest meant you had to follow the bigger ones. And so I did.
