It was really late at night now, and everyone decided it was time to sleep. Vampires AREN'T nocturnal and we still love our sleep just as much as anybody else. Mike was to help me find a cabin since they didn't know I was going to sleep over. I looked at my phone and I saw 3 missed calls from my "mom," 4 from Jane, and 1 from Jake. Pierce left me a text saying "Sorry Mary, I'm not good under pressure" which is stupid because he actually thought I'd reply. I cleared my notifications without answering anyone back.

Chief had saw Mike walking me to one of the lonely creepy cabins and told me not to be afraid.

"Yup, that totally made me less creeped out!" I said with an amazing hint of sarcasm. It wasn't too sassy, but according to Mike, it was HILARIOUS. He started cracking up in the middle of the walkway and Chief just grinned and walked away.

Mike opened the door to the cabin and, I kid you not, dust came flying out of everywhere. Literally. It was repulsive, there was no way I was going to sleep there. Mike wasn't going to let me sleep there either, apparently, because he closed the door, turned around and leaned on it, and said "You're sleeping in my cabin tonight, deal?"

"Deal." I said, walking away with Mike by my side. "You could've made your offer earlier, you know, before we had to walk this far," The walk wasn't really that long, I just wanted to make him feel bad for making me walk.

Out of no where HE SMACKED ME ON THE HEAD. "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" I yelled rubbing my head viciously.

"There was dust on your head," he said laughing. I started laughing too even though my head was throbbing. "Sorry," he said still laughing.

"You're not sorry liar, you're still laughing," I told him in a joking way, but at the same time I was kind of serious.

"Fine," he put on a "serious face" and this time I couldn't keep myself from laughing at HIM.

We arrived at his cabin and the first thing he did was throw himself on the bed. I was kind of disappointed that we weren't walking around and talking anymore. I was disappointed at a lot of things and people at the moment. I threw myself on the bed too, the one across from him. I pulled out my phone and called my dad.

The phone call:

"Hey, pumpkin," he said.

"Hey daddy, where are you?"

"At home making some lasagna, why? Where are you?"

"Dad, it's really late for lasagna. And I left a note on your bed, telling you that I was going out to look for Jane. I'm in my old kid camp right now with my friend, I'm safe."

"Oh, who's your friend,"

"MIKE!" Mike yelled from across the room. I rolled my eyes playfully and threw a pillow at him as he laughed.

"Oh it's a boy."

"He's just a friend dad, no worries"

The conversation continued for 10 more minutes and he told me that he knew where his wife, Jessica, my "mom" was. I told him i would call him when I woke up from my sleep and hung up.

"Awwe look at Mary," Mike said.

"What, Mr.ScreamOutMyNameWhileMyFriend'sOnThePhoneWithHerDad?" I said being a little..tiny.. bit sassy.

"Hey, he wanted to know my name. And your dad's overprotective. I can tell." He said being sassy back.

"Yeah, he is. Its just because the guys I hang out with are jerks and losers and idiots and dumb and useless and-" Mike cut me off.

"Um, I'm amazing. I'm not a jerk or a loser or an idiot or dumb or useless. I'm especially not useless, I got you a room didn't I?" I could tell he was annoyed with me and maybe a little mad.

"I didn't mean you, I'm sorry. I meant, the guys I've dated," I replied, reassuring him I had nothing against him.

"Stop dating jerks then," he said it so easily and carefree it was almost funny.

"It's not as easy at it sounds. It might be, but I need like a guy's guide to avoid jerks or something," was my answer. My dumb, nerdy answer.

"Well then come sit next to me and I'll give you the best guide ever," he said, not making fun of my dumb answer before. I felt my face heat up and I knew I was blushing. Ew, I hate blushing.
