Dean's Shop

(It's five years later and Evelyn is now twenty-two and still living in Elphindia as princess and she and Dean, now twenty-three, have tried moving on with their lives)

Dean: Sedgewick, bring in the new jewels the queen would like me to place, please.

Sedgewick: Yes, sir.

Dean: I told you maybe a million times, just call me Dean.

Sedgewick: Sorry sir- I mean, Dean.

(Dean chuckles and gets back to work)

Sedgewick: Sir, what's this?

Dean: (turns around) I just told you call me-

Sedgewick: What's wrong?

Dean: Where did you find that?

Sedgewick: In your coat, sir... I-I only walked by it and it fell out.

Dean: I don't care how you found it. Put it away.

Sedgewick: Yes, sir.

Dean: It's... oh, nevermind.

(Voice over replays his memory of the last time he saw Evelyn)

Evelyn: (echoing) ...a big... fat.... NO!.... Not five minutes!... Are you kidding me!... You have no heart!...

Dean: (sighs) She's probably some big important princess with a handsome husband and beautiful children having the time of her life... But I'm just some jewelry worker making necklaces and rings for the big, important and rich...

(Dean gets up, interrupted by the door opening to his shop)

Evelyn: (walks in holding the arm of an elf prince) Is this place open?

Dean: (turns around) Yes we are- oh...

Evelyn: Is there something wrong?

Dean: Nothing... no...I mean... What can I help you with today?

Evelyn: Well we're not from the town, but we came here to pick out an engagement ring.

Pyrder: Pick whichever one you'd like.

Evelyn: (observes) They're all so beautiful. (to Dean) Do you make these, yourself?

Dean: Uh, well... they are handmade, but I do have help.

Evelyn: Cool... I am in love with this one!

Pyrder: (sarcastically) What? I thought you were in love with me?

Evelyn: (hits his arm) You're such a goof! That one please and- wait.. You look familiar.

Dean: Believe me, I wouldn't be one you'd recognize.

(Dean puts the ring in a box and then a bag. Pyrder hands him some coins)

Pyrder: Thank you.

Dean: Have a nice day.

(They start to exit, but not before Evelyn looks back once more. Blackout and scene shifts to later)

Dean: Wow. I can't believe that I blew my chance to talk to her again and sell her an engagement ring! I may has well have been the one to marry them all together! (looks at pendant) I could go after her... but she might yell at me again, this time for ruining her wedding! But she did forget her pendant. (groans and grabs it before exiting)
