'Not my kid...'

Destiny still arrives...

Tony let Peter sleep.

When Peter woke up (3 hours later) he was back to being his bright and bubbly self, for the most part. Peter was still annoyed at how much attention he received being Spiderman, but Tony promised he'd do his best to get them to go away. 

Peter went out and did his evening patrol, then went to May's for dinner. She was so happy to see him. Afterwards, Peter went out to do his night patrol, that's when it got interesting...

He saw someone suspicious in the alley on what looked like a skateboard. He watched them carefully, but as their skateboard started to hover he knew this was going to be something big.

The person turned and saw Peter sitting on top of the street light. They hovered up to him. 

'Mmmm stalking isn't a nice thing to do' the person said, their voice was altered and they had a mask. 

Peter tried to shoot a web but the magnetic technology on the hover board repelled it. 

'You can't shoot me' the voice said, 'But I can shoot you'

He or she, Peter couldn't tell, pulled out weapon. It was unlike anything Peter had seen. It reminded him of the weapon The Shocker had, except it was larger, much larger, and it had spikes. 

He tried to shoot another web but it was no use, it flew right away. 

The masked person drew their weapon and hit Peter square in the chest. Peter could feel the spikes piercing his skin and the electricity constantly shocking him. As he was being electrocuted the person increased the voltage and Peter became weaker and weaker, before eventually becoming limp. The person shook him off the weapon and let him fall, unconscious, from the street light.

Peter's blood dripped from the spikes of the person's weapon as they flew away. As Peter lay his blood slowly dripped from his body to his the cold concrete road.

*Time Skip*

Peter lay in a hospital bed, at the Avenger's compound. His heart monitor beeping weakly, but steady. 

Peter slowly began to open his eyes, and winced at the bright light. He opened his mouth to speak, but was too weak.

'You're at the compound kid' Tony said, Peter noticed tear stains down his face.

Peter gave Tony an expression that read How?

Tony looked down, 'An old friend, you don't know him, Doctor Strange. He told me this might happen. So I programmed Karen to let me know if someone on a hover board approached you. I wasn't there in time I'm sorry'

'I-It's okay... I'm okay now...' Peter voice was hoarse. He looked up to Tony, 'By any chance... did this Doctor Strange have a red magic cape?'

'Uh yeah why?' Tony said both shocked and confused.

'You know when I said I couldn't sleep...'

Tony nodded.

'Well it's because I kept of having this dream... or more nightmare... there was this circle space ship... I went to go check it out... but I ran out of oxygen. You came to get me... but it was too late... I died. That Doctor was there. so was Bruce... you had a different suit though.'

Tony's jaw dropped. 'Peter...' he began, 'That wasn't a dream... that -uh- that was a reality.'

'What?!' Peter shouted, wincing in pain after he did.

'I time travelled so you would stay alive...but Thanos was right. Destiny still arrives...' he said looking down

Peter was too sore after screaming to talk again. He gave Tony a look that read Why?, and Tony continued.

'I couldn't imagine a world where you'd be gone. Kid you're like a- you are a son to me.'

Peter gave Tony a weak smile.

'Get some rest' Tony said as he stood up to leave.

'Tony?' Peter's voice croaked.

'Yeah kid?'

'Who's Thanos?'

'You don't need to worry about him for a while. Just relax and get some sleep.'

'Okay Peter said hesitantly. He reached for his sleeping tablets. Took two and fell asleep.

Tony shut the door and walked to his room...

Little did he know that Thanos would arrive sooner than he thought...
