'Not my kid...'

Consquences

'Take me back 3 years' Tony said, 'To after he beat the vulture. When he came into my facility and I first offered him the Iron Spider suit'

'Tony you understand the consequences, right?'

'Yes, I have to relive those years'

'Not only that.' Strange continued, 'You have to know what you changed.'

'May won't know he is Spiderman, he'll have the suit, probably be living with me and, most importantly, he'll be alive'

'You and Pepper won't be married Tony-'

'-Wait what?!' Tony interrupted.

'You engaged to Pepper during that press interview when you were meant to announce Spiderman as the newest Member of the Avengers'

Tony nodded. 'Can you like fast forward or something and tell me how things are going to be?'

'I already did' 

Tony looked both confused and surprised. 

'You and Pepper aren't married, she is still a secretary, Peter lives with you and you have a stronger relationship. May lives alone and Peter goes often to visit her. She doesn't know he is Spiderman. The news is aware of Spiderman and every time he is out trying to fight crime they are always there...' he drifts off.

'What's wrong?' Tony looked at him, 'What happens that you're not telling me?' 

'It gets to him Tony.'

'Gets to him how?'

'Look, it's not certain. Anything you say or do will change the timeline. But in one of the variations I saw he is fighting someone, I don't know who he is, I just saw a silhouette. He is on some sort of hover craft. Peter is fighting him and winning, until...' Stephen shook his head. 'Until someone from the media comes out trying to get a photo of Spiderman, Peter gets distracted at the person shouting at him. The guy turns around and goes to blast the person from the media, he-uh-'

'-Just get it out Strange!' Tony interrupted.

'He intercepts, Tony, Peter intercepts.'

'And... what happens to him?'

'I don't know.'

'What do you mean you don't know'

'I've never seen a weapon like that. I couldn't get closer otherwise they'd see me. In that timeline you don't know me, neither does Peter'

'You said that was one variation, how many did you see?'

'11,057'

'It's a chance I'm willing to take.'

'Are you sure?'

'Yes. I can't live with myself knowing I could've saved Peter, and didn't. All because I was too slow to save him'

'Okay.'

Hesitantly, Strange opened the eye of Agamotto. The bright green time stone glowed.

Tony watched Stephen, he watched as everything around him began to change. They were going back in time.

A couple of seconds later Tony was standing in the Avengers facility upstate. He saw Peter nervously standing at the door with Happy, now they were frozen in time. 

Strange held up his hands to Tony. Tony watched as his appearance changed, he was becoming younger. 

'You know, you could just erase all of my grey hairs if you wanted to...' Tony drifted off, eyeing Stephen's stern look. 

His outfit changed too. Then before he knew it Doctor Strange had vanished, and so had his memory him, and the other timeline. Now time was as normal, and Peter walking in the facility with Happy.

'Woah...' he said, amazed at all the technology. 

'Hey kid', Tony said.

'H-uh-Hi Mr Stark. Umm... Happy said you wanted to see me. Am I in trouble? I'm sorry for messing up your plane, when I fought Liz's dad, I left a note...' Peter stopped talking, realising he was rambling. 

'It's okay kid, that's not why you are here.'

'W-Why am I here exactly?' Peter asked, slightly confused.

'I was wrong about you. I think with a bit more mentoring, you'll be a real asset to the team.'

'To the- To the team?'

Then Tony got a wave of dejavou.

'Uh... yeah. To the team'

Peter smiled.

Something felt off to Tony, but he couldn't tell what it was.

'I um...' Tony cleared his throat  'I got something to show you' he pressed a button to reveal the Iron Spider suit.

Why is this so familiar? Tony thought. Everything seemed so familar, yet so different...
