─ Chapter Twenty-Nine ─

╳ I sighed, inhaling the fresh air as we exited the library; we were all okay so that was good as well. " I guess that's it. ", I said, we all nodded looking around. " Where exactly are we? ", Roman asked.

" We're at your guys' home. "

" We don't live in a library. ", Logan replied.

" No no, this library is next to your neighborhood. Look, come with me. ", Baby said, motioning us to follow and we ended up in the middle of a street, where cars were passing by, familiar shops and other parts were in front of us. " How have we not noticed there was a library here? "

" We should explore this town more often. ", Virgil added, standing beside me while we looked around, standing in silence. " I guess, it's probably time for me to leave. ", Baby said, glancing at us. I looked down at her. " You know your way back? "

" I'll find my way back. I promise. ", Baby remarked, I smiled and pulled her into a hug, she held me tightly. " Thank you, Patton. Thank you so much for everything. "

" Thank you for being a friend, Baby. ", I said and let go of her, watching as she greeted her goodbyes and hugging the other three. " I won't forget you guys. Thanks for being there for me. "

" We won't forget you either, Baby. "

" Goodbye. ", She waved, I waved back along with the other three. Baby's figure became smaller as she continued walking. " It seems as if we're left on our own. "

" I'm in the mood to celebrate finishing this Hell of a ride. ", Virgil said. " What should we do? "

" Hm, what about the coffee shop? ", Roman pointed at the cafe across the street, we all nodded in agreement and approached the shop. Roman had a couple dollars in his pocket so we used that to order our coffees, we found a table outside and sat there, talking about the journey we went on, all the things we experienced and saw.
Everything.
" The part where Logan came back, was so unexpected! ", Roman said, I laughed and Logan smiled. " Well, I'm happy to be back. "

" Does that make you a zombie? ", I said playfully. " Zombies aren't real, Patton. "

" I think we found ourselves the first zombie to walk this planet then! ", Virgil responded, we laughed before the laughter died down. " I'm happy that your back, Logan. ", Roman stated as the two smiled at each other. " You guys totally want to kiss each other, don't you? ", Virgil joked, Roman opened his mouth to argue before Logan pulled him in for a kiss, me and Virgil 'awwed' before the two pulled away, the two kept going at it until Virgil stopped them. " Please stop eating each other's faces, we're in public. ", He said and the two pulled each other away, our coffees came in and we grabbed our own. " To being free again! "

" And not being single anymore! ", Roman smiled, we raised our coffees and clinked them together, cheering whilst taking a sip. We proceeded to chat until it got dark and decided to head home.

As soon as we walked Roman and Logan home, it was just me and Virgil. " That was insane. "

" Tell me about it. You had a demon living in your camera. ", I joked, Virgil held my hand and I held his back, talking about how much we missed each other until we got to his home. " I missed this place so much. ", He said and opened the door, Virgil immediately hit the couch as I joined him, I lured him into a long kiss before pulling away. " I've been waiting for that. "

" Psh, you're such a goofball. "

" And you're like, the cutest fluffball. "

" Awe, is that what you think of me? "

" Isn't that what everybody thinks? How do you think I started to have a crush on you? "

" Oh my gosh, I love you so much. ", I said sweetly. " I love you more. ", Virgil replied as we kissed again, the both of us walked into his room and passed out without a doubt but ended up in each other's arms. " I missed this. "

" So do I. ", Virgil spoke, leaving a kiss on my forehead, falling asleep.

I woke up to the sun shining on my face. My eyes stung with the sunlight, I groaned with a stretch and sighed, waking up in an empty bed again but I think Virgil knows better to leave again. " Virgil? ", I called out and walked into the kitchen where he stood making cereal for the both of us. " Hey, hun'. Good-morning, how was your slumber? "

" It was good, thanks love. ", I spoke, pecking his cheek and grabbed my bowl of cereal. I then found myself at the table with Virgil. " You excited about going back to school? "

" Are you kidding? Who's ever excited about school? "

" I dunno, just asking. How do think people'll react when they see us? Must've been awhile. "

" Yeah, I don't think many will care. Teens always avoid school. "

" But would they avoid it for so long? "

" Why are you so worried about it? We'll be fine, if people ask just say we ditched. "

" I guess. ", I poked at my leftover cereal, my stomach churned with the type of fear that you can't explain. Virge picked up my bowl along with his, I rested my hand on my cheek, staring down at the table. " Go on ahead and get ready, I'll get ready after you. "

" Okay. ", I replied tiredly, I wanted to sleep more but I could survive without it. Either way, I changed into one of Virgil's purple hoodies and a pair of jeans he said no longer fit him but fit me perfectly. I shoved my hands into the pocket of the hoodie, waiting for my boyfriend to come walking out. Once he did, I looked up to him with a smile as he grabbed our backpacks -I left mine here a while back- and handed mine to me. We headed outside and towards school. " Man, we're gonna have to take tests and do homework again. ", Virgil said, wrapping an arm around me. " Yeah? We're gonna have to copy Logan's homework like we used to. Besides, I know where he hides his homework before the entry dates. "

" Oh? Being sneaky now? "

" What? Homework is hard! ", I laughed a bit with Virgil before it died down again. We continued talking about how the school would be in the future until Logan and Roman joined us on our way to school. I felt complete, surrounded by my friends. It felt good to take a break from going on wild-goose hunts, I'm thankful that it's over; grateful that we made it through.

School passed on until I realized how many filers there were for the school prom, it was on the last day of school which was next week; we missed out on a lot so we got in trouble for that. Either way, during lunch we talked about prom and what we planned to wear, apparently, Roman was one to wear a dress, which we all supported and awed at the fact of the two dancing together. It felt nice to know that we were all happy, although there was something in the back of my head.

Baby.

I realized how she connected us all together to create a better group of friends, how much she changed us. Virgil and Logan had been getting along better which makes things ten times better. I was slightly worried about where she'd gone to, God knows where she went but I prayed on the inside that she's happy too. " Hey, honey. You okay? ", Virgil rested his hand on my shoulder, snapping me out of my gaze. I looked up to him with a smile that I haven't smiled in a long time; not a fake smile, but an actual smile.

" Yeah, I'm doing just great. "
