It all started with the book signing

Chapter 7

* Castle P.O.V. *

I was running to Beckett's apartment when it explodes. For a moment I froze down then I ran to the burning building. - Beckett! Mia! Where are you? - I yelled while I climbed into the apartment. - Kate, Mia! - I yelled again when I heard a quiet crying. - Rick! - Mia was sobbing while she yelled. I ran to her to the bathroom. - She doesn't wake up. - she still sobbed. - Come here! - she was under Kate's body so I pull her out and took her into my arms. - You have to calm down a bit so I can help your mom okay? - I put her down while she nodded. I picked up Kate in bridal style then I turned towards Mia. - Listen to me. Come really close to me and hold my trouser. We will go down okay? - I asked. - Okay. - she said and we started going down. On our way down I heard Espo and Ryan. - Javi, Kevin! We are here! - I yelled and they found us. - Uncle Javi! - Mia ran to Espo and he picked the girl up. - The paramedics are on their way. Everything will be okay. - he held close the little Beckett and we went out from the building. When we got out I gave Kate to the paramedics. - Let me go, I want to go with my momma! - I heard Mia's screaming. The paramedics were checking up on her. - Hey, Mia it's ok, we will go after your mommy just let the doctors do their job. - I went to her and tried to calm her down. After they finished the check-up on Mia I took her to the hospital. I called my mother too, that they need to come to the hospital. When we arrived we go to the information desk. - Hey, I would like to know where Katherine Beckett is. She was brought in about 35 minutes. - I told the nurse while I picked Mia into my arms. -  Dr. Fisher is with her in room 1107. Turn the second left and then take the right.- I thanked her and we went to Kate. Just when we reached her room the doctor came out. - Oh the family is here.- I immediately nodded - She is stable she has a strong concussion of the brain and some bruise on her arms. Maybe she won't remember a few things but she will wake up. We took her to the CT and there was no bleeding in her brain or anywhere so no need to worry. Your mom will be fine. - she smiled at Mia and walked away. - So she's just sleeping? - she asked when I put her on the bed next to Beckett. - Yes, she's sleeping. You can lie next to her if you want. - I told her while I sat down. - No, I don't want to hurt her. I'll just wait until she wakes up. - she said. - I called my mother and Alexis, they will be here in any minutes. - just as I said the last word the two redheads stepped into the room. - How's Katherine? - my mother asked and I told her what the doctor told me earlier. I saw that the little girl next to her mother started to get tired and tired - Come on little girl let's go home. - I don't have a home, Rick. It just explodes an hour ago. - she cut me off. - You always have a home. My house is your house. - I smiled at her and she smiled back. - I want you to stay. Please. Because if she wakes up I don't want her to be alone. - she said to me and I totally understood it. - Be good to gram girls. - I kissed Alexis and Mia then my mother, they went home and I went back to Kate. I brought a chair next to her bed and sat down on it. I held her hand and I watched her. 

* Beckett P.O.V. *

I woke up in a hospital. My head ached like hell. When I opened my eyes I saw Castle was sitting on my left and he was holding my hand while he was sleeping on a chair. - Castle - I wanted to speak but it was only a whisper. - Kate, how are you feeling? - he woke up and asked. - My head is hurting and I feel a bit dizzy. Why am I here? - I asked. - Your apartment - he didn't need to finish the sentence, it hit me. - Where is Mia? Where is my daughter? - I asked with a lot of fear in my voice. - Calm down she is perfectly fine and she is home with Alexis and my mother. - he said while he laid down me to the bed - I'll go get your doctor. - he said and before I could ask he stepped out from my room.  After five minutes he was back but alone. - She's in the O.R. - he said and sat back next to me. - How did I get out of the tub? How did Mia get out? - I asked because I didn't remember. - I called you and when you picked up the phone I told you that the killer is still alive and then the bomb is exploded. I ran into the building and I ran up to your apartment. Mia was awake and I heard her sobbing so I went after the voice. I found you in the tub and Mia was under you so I took her out. She held my trouser while I was carried you out. When we got to the first floor Espo and Ryan got there and they took down Mia and when I got out of the building I gave you to the paramedics and I went back to your daughter. The doctor checked her up and then we came here. After an hour Alexis got here with my mom and I told them to go home with Mia. - he told me. He saved my life and he saved my daughter's life. - You have or maybe just had a concussion and a few bruises on your arms. - he informed me. - Thank you. For everything. - I smiled at him. - Always. - he smiled back. - You want to ask something don't you? - I asked and before he could answer my doctor came in. She told me what Castle said to me earlier. - When can I go home? - home. I forgot that I don't have one. - If somebody will be with you all the time you can go. You need somebody who's take care of you and a week in bed rest.- she said. Crap,  why the hell is my dad in Europe?! - I'll take care of her. - Castle words got my attention. - Great, have a nice day. If you have any problem just come back. - she smiled and went out. I want to talk to Castle when the door is opened again. My daughter ran in and jumped up to the bed and hugged. - Hey baby. - I hugged her as close to as I could. - Mommy - she was crying. - Hey, no need to cry peanut I'm fine and you are fine. It's okay. - I pushed her so I could look into her eyes. - I was so scared. I don't want to lose you. - she said. - You won't lose me. Never. - I smiled at her and she nodded. - Can we go home? - she asked. - Honey I uh.. I think we will stay in a hotel. - I said to her. - No. You will come home with us. - Rick looked into my eyes. - Castle it's fine, we will stay in a hotel. - I told him. - No argue. I bought you some clothes in hope that you can come home. - Martha gave me a bag with different clothes in it. I tried to sat up but I fell back. - Let me help you. - Castle helped me and then I went to change. I picked up a hoodie and a pair of jeans. After I was done we went to the loft. - I'll do the guest room for the two of you. - he smiled at me and with the girls we went after Martha to the kitchen. - Gram made her special soup, you have to taste it. - Alexis  put in front of me a plate and Martha put into it the soup. All of us sat down and had lunch except Castle. - I have to go but I'll be home for dinner. - he said while he went outside the door. 

* Castle P.O.V. *

I went to Beckett's apartment to see how serious the damage is. It was bad. The living room and the bathroom are totally gone and the bedroom was a little smoky. Mia's room was gone too except for her wardrobe. I went down to the mall and bought a suitcase. I went back to the house and packed all the clothes from the wardrobes. I found a watch and a necklace too. The piano was half burned. I called one of my friends and he and his co-workers took it to fix it. Esposito told me that the CSU's are finished the search so we can start to clean up. By 6 we got rid of the burned-down furnitures. I said goodbye to the guys and thanked them for helping me with the apartment. On my way home I called an interior decorator and we agreed that we'll meet tomorrow. 

* Beckett P.O.V. *

All-day I was lay and with the girls, we watched a lot of Disney movies. - Girls, dinner is ready! - Martha yelled. The girls ran out from our room and I watched them with a smile on my face. When I stood up I got dizzy and I started to fell. I was waiting to meet the floor when suddenly two arms wrapped around me. - Hey, you okay? - he caught me. - Yes, just a little dizzy. Where were you all day? - I asked. He was still holding me close to himself which I didn't mind. - Did you miss me? - he teased. - Maybe. - why the hell did I say that?! - Come, sit down. - he helped me sat down and I pulled him beside me. - Better? - he asked and I could hear the care in his voice. - Yes. - I nodded. He stood up without a word and went out. After a few he got back with the most beautiful girls and a tray with the dinner on it. - What are you doing? - I asked when I noticed that the girls brought in their plates too. - We will eat with you in here. -Mia smiled at me. - Start eating I'll be back in a minute. - How are you feeling? - Alexis asked. - I'm better. - I smiled at her. The girls sat beside me and we started eating. When Castle came back he sat on the sofa which was in the room. When we finished the dinner Castle washed the dishes. - Mia, come on honey, it's time for a shower. - I stood up with my daughter but I sat back immediately because of the dizziness. - Mom? - Mia looked at me. - I'm fine just a little dizzy. - I tried to smile at her. - I can go and take a shower alone mommy. - she hugged me and went out of the room with her friend. I was angry with myself that I couldn't do my usual things. - It's not your fault you know that right? - he came into my room and I quickly wiped off my tears. - I know it's just. I'm the only one for her and my dad if he is in the town. - I said to him. - It's not true. She have Espo, Ryan, Lanie, my mother, Alexis and me too. - he held my hands while he helped me stood up and looked into my eyes. - Thank you. - I smiled at him. We stood there, looking into each other's eyes until - Mommy! - I heard Mia's voice and we looked away. - Yes, baby. - I went to her and left Rick behind. - Can you give me a towel? - she asked and I went back to Castle. - Can you give me some towels? - I asked. - Sure. - he smiled at me and gave the stuff to me. - What is in that suitcase? - I asked when I saw that he's trying to hide it. - Oh it's just uhmm...- he stuttered - I got your clothes. - he put the suitcase on the bed and opened it. - Didn't you found a necklace? Or a watch? - I asked immediately. - I did. Here. - he took the mentioned thing out of his pocket. - Thank you. - I smiled at him while I put the necklace on. - How does it look? My house. - I asked. - It's bad. - he said to me. - Did they got the killer? - I asked. - Yes they did. You are safe. - he smiled at me and I smiled back. - Mom - Mia ran into the room - Would you watch a movie with us? - she asked. - Mia we watch more than 6 movies today. For me, it was enough honey, sorry. - I said. - No problem, I'll watch it with Lex and gram. - when she skipped out of the room I looked after her with wide eyes. - Did she just say gram? - I looked at Castle. - She did. I told her she can call me grandma if she wants. - Martha came into the room - Want some wine? - she asked. We went to the kitchen and we were talking and drinking. The girls fell asleep in Alexis bedroom. When I went to my room my phone started ringing. - Beckett. - I picked up. - Hey Kate, it's me. - my heart skipped a beat and I forget to breathe. I couldn't believe it. He called me after seven years. - What do you want? - I asked. - I came back to New York.  We need to talk. - he said. He's in the same city as me. It's can be possible. He's back, the father of my daughter, my worst nightmare. Josh is back.
