Help Me Remember

Part 8

A few weeks later Sarah was sleeping and she had a dream about her last memory wipe again but this time because she knew she was pregnant when it happened she was screaming in her sleep "PLEASE DONT HURT MY BABY. James please make them stop please our baby please." 

"Sarah wake up baby please wake up." Bucky was shaking her awake. She woke up covered in sweat and tears falling down her face. He hugged her and said "im right here doll it's ok it's over I promise." 

The whole team was in the living room they could hear her screaming. Bucky looked at her and said "Doll it's alright." 

She got up and went to take a shower and cried as she sat in the bottom of the tub. Losing their baby was becoming a reoccuring dream for her. Bucky sat outside the bathroom door and cried he felt like it was all his fault he didn't fight for her he remembered hearing her screams in the room next to his as he was being wiped again to forget her. Steve said "You two had a baby?"

"The morning she was to go back to Washington DC she took a pregnancy test and it was positive Steve. She left it on my nightstand with a note that said to come find her when it was over and that she loved me. She had no idea that they were going to wipe her and I remember hearing her scream but I was strapped in a chair myself I couldn't do anything Steve. I couldn't save her or our baby." Bucky said 

"Sharon mentioned there was a lot of blood on her when she found her. The hospital confirmed she had a miscarriage how is she just now remembering this." Nat said 

"Because she was unconsious when we found her Nat." Steve said 

"Wait what?" Bucky said 

"It was me and Sharon that found her. We couldn't trace for the whole year that she was gone then one day a cellphone came back on the grid and we found her. They had dumped her unconcious body in a alley and turned her phone back on." Steve said 

Sarah could hear him as she was sitting in the bathroom floor crying. 

"She didn't know where she had been for the last 12 months and she barely remembered her name. She just kept whispering help me." Steve said 

"Thank you Steve for saving her." Bucky said 

"Your welcome." Steve said 

"This is why my dad never trusted Shield." Hope said

Sarah opened the bathroom door and Bucky stood up and he hugged her. "Im sorry darlin I'm so sorry I hate that I let you down and I couldn't protect you or our baby." he whispered.

"I want a baby James." she whispered.

"I know you do." he said as he kissed her the top of her head. 

"Steve I heard you. Thank you for saving me. But I don't want to be here anymore I don't want to be an Avenger anymore I want to be able to have the life me and James talked about. We talked about having babies and getting married when it was all over. We wanted to move to Romania." She said 

"Oh my god. You remembered all that." Bucky said to her as he wiped tears and she said "Yes I do." She smiled. 

Steve smiled at her and said "Ok I know that you haven't been happy here but it seems as if you are finally able to move past everything and be happy. I think you and Bucky both deserve some happiness." 

A few weeks later Bucky and Sarah tied the knot in a small ceremony at the compound. Instead of Romania they moved to Wakanda. They stared trying for babies right away and she got pregnant with a set of twins. She had a boy and a girl their names were "Brooklyn Ann and Carter Jackson." 

They tried for one more baby when the twins turned 2 years old and she got pregnant with a boy who they named Steven James. 

They lived out every dream they said they would do the last one that they said they wanted to go together and they did that one too.
