『Section 2』

It had been 2 weeks since I've completed my interview. Of course they didn't call me. Straight out of college, 24, and currently unemployed. I had spent my lonely days sitting at home, waiting for the same number to call me.

"Oh god, I have to pay the rent", I looked through the mail I had gathered from my old rusty mailbox. Some of the papers were slightly wet at the corners from the thunderstorm from last night. I couldn't even take care of my mailbox.

As of now, I had just enough money to pay for the two bedroom studio apartment I was living in. It wasn't too bad if I said so myself. It had everything I could possibly need, a large kitchen, a nice bed to sleep on and large windows to filter in sunlight. With the room decor I had brought with me, it was presentable.

Just as I was about the get up to do the pending laundry, the buzzing of my cell phone interrupted me. I picked up the shaking phone and raised it to my ear.

"Hello, is this Ms. Mina Song?", an unfamiliar voice spoke through the speaker.

"Yes, this is her", I replied, suddenly anxious.

"We're happy to inform that you've been selected for the position of a Business Analyst at Invenico Incorporation".

This was it. This was my pathway to success. An overwhelming feeling of success and gratitude came over me. Immediately, a smile found its way onto my face and the grip on my phone tightened.

"Thank you so much. When can I start working?", I asked, full of anticipation.

"You may start as early as next week. We will be looking forward to welcoming you".

"Of course. Thank you", I ended the call in immense joy. Nothing could have wiped the smile off of my face at the moment.

It was time to treat myself. I could splurge all my money and I wouldn't have to worry because I knew I was going to get paid well.

And most importantly, to the people who didn't believe in me.... I made it.
