For You『Section 25』
"Hurry! The party starts in 30 minutes and you still didn't do your makeup!", it seemed like Anha was more eager to get me into the party than I was myself.
However, I was still contemplating whether I should wear the mysterious dress that I had received this morning. I didn't know who it was from, but I could tell it was really expensive.
Till now I had refused to take it out of the box, fearing that it may be the opening of a new complication in my life. After a couple of minutes of pacing around the room, I decided to wear it anyways.
Hesitantly I slipped into the fine piece of cloth. The incredibly soft, black material clung to my body like second skin.
Looking at myself in the mirror, there was no denying the dress did bring out features I didn't even know I had. I felt a series of emotions from happiness to sadness that I was never able to enjoy my feminine side while I was always busy with work.
"Mina, you look so good, I think I'm going to cry", Anha wiped her fake tears dramatically, hugging me from behind as we stared at our reflections.
"Save it", I chuckled, grabbing the black clutch on the dressing table. My attention shifted over to the vibrating phone beside it, and I picked it up.
"Hey?", I asked, holding the phone up to my ear.
"I'm waiting for you outside, come quickly".
*******
"Woah, Mina you look great", Jungkook chuckled, scratching his head, looking me up and down.
I felt myself blush as he complimented me, "You look great too". He opened the door of his car for me, and I slid into his car, feeling a little anxious.
You know when you get excited before you go out, but last minute you have a feeling you're regretting you even agreed to it?
Yeah, that was exactly what I was feeling, and it wasn't too great.
------
"They really didn't hold back", I commented look around the party hall, still not used to the overwhelming atmosphere.
The lights were dimmed down and the color red shined lightly, illuminating the ballroom with warmth. A minimalistic brown chandelier hung from the center of the ceiling, holding up several white translucent drapes. Several tables were scattered around the massive room with an arrangement of red flowers in the middle and large windows encompassed the view of the night city.
"Look everyone's over there", Jungkook pointed to a table filled with familiar people. I didn't resist as he pulled on my arm, dragging me along with him.
"Hey guys", I waved at everyone, awkwardly. It was a little weird seeing everyone so late at night.
As we engaged in small talk, minutes passed, until Jungkook tapped my shoulder.
"Why has that guy been staring at you for the past 30 minutes, it's getting a little creepy", Jungkook whispered in my ear.
"Who?", I asked, alarmed. I looked around the hall, trying to figure out who this person could possibly be.
"See it's that guy over there", Jungkook discreetly pointed in a direction off to the side, making me tilt my head.
My heart dropped to my feet when I met eyes with the person standing on the opposite side of the hall, looking at me. His eyes were slightly hooded by the shadow, cast by the drapes above his head, but I knew he was staring at me. He was leaning against the wall, with his arms crossed across his waist, with his head tilted slightly towards the ground.
As I stared back at him, drawn in by his strong presence, an arm on my shoulder shook me out of voidness.
"Jimin? What is it?", I asked, quite alarmed by the look on his face.
"I need to talk to you", he breathed, leaning down to look me straight in the eyes. I nodded and he grabbed my wrist, pulling me out of the chair.
As I was being dragged out, I looked back to see Jungkook's confused expression. I replied to him with the same expression, having no clue why I was being dragged away.
-----
"You dragged me all the way to the rooftop for Anha's number?!", I exclaimed, throwing my hands up into the air in frustration.
He nodded, pouting a little bit. The sight of him looking guilty made my heart melt a little bit. Just a little bit. I didn't understand how this the same guy who killed his own boss, especially when he was able to look like this.
"Can't you like use your 'resources' to find her number?", I asked, a little alarmed with the fact he dragged me all the way out here for his number.
Something seemed a little fishy.
"Just give me her number", Jimin sighed, putting his phone out towards me. Rolling my eyes, I took it out of his hand and entered Anha's "number" into his phone. There was no way I was going to betray my friend by putting in her actual number when he's such a dangerous guy, so I entered in the first combination of numbers that came to mind.
"Thanks Mina, you're the best", he quickly hugged me, and ran off back into the party, leaving me completely alone on the dark rooftop.
I walked slowly after him, still very confused why Jimin made it such a big deal about Anha's phone number.
As I was about to open the door to the staircase, a low growl made me freeze in my steps, sending chills down my spine.
"Where do you think you're going?".
