Nadina flew back to the cave where she had stayed and she laid down for rest.  As she tried to sleep, she couldn't get the image of Thorin singing and playing his harp out of her head. The dwarf's voice was more beautiful than any voice she had ever heard, and her heart raced.  The next morning, Nadina woke up, now back in human form, and she went to join the others for breakfast.  Angelina took notice of her friend looking quite distracted. "Nadina, are you alright? You don't seem yourself this morning. You've been--well, rather quiet." said Angelina. "I'm fine, Angelina--its just I wish I never have this curse. You know why? It will stop me from doing normal things, like have a life, getting a job or even better yet, getting married." said Nadina. "You can't be seriously of thinking of getting married now? You haven't found anyone yet." said Angelina. "Actually there is one, but I rest my case on that one, Angie." said Nadina, smiling. Angelina knew whom Nadina is speaking of.   She was speaking about Thorin.  For someone who is angry at the guy, is now having the hots for him? Am I missing something here? thought Angelina.

When the dwarves entered the dining room, they joined the women for breakfast, which Angelina and Bombur had made themselves. As for Bilbo, he was still sleeping.  "You played the harp very beautifully, Thorin." said Nadina.  Thorin smiled. "Thank you." said the dwarf casually.  "At least she's talking, that's a good sign!" joked Gloin. Thorin glared at Gloin. "My apologies, Thorin." said Gloin quickly.   "We will take leave in a few minutes. We will not wait on the hobbit. It seems that he will not be joining us." said Thorin. "Oh, that's a shame. And he's such a cutie." said Angelina.  Everyone looked at Angelina. "What?" snapped Angelina.  Nadina chuckled. And Angelina says I have hots for someone? She has the hots for Bilbo! thought Nadina.   After breakfast, Nadina went to pack up the rest of her things, and humming softly to herself.  She was so busy packing that she didn't notice anyone in the room with her.  And that person was Thorin. "Nadina, are you almost ready?" asked Thorin. "Yes, yes, Thorin. I'm almost ready." said Nadina, as she turned and looked at Thorin. "Is there anything else you need Thorin? Why are you watching me?" aske Nadina.

"Its just I cannot help but notice--how--red your hair is." said Thorin quickly.  He was going to actualy tell her how beautiful she is to him, but he didn't seem to muster enough courage to tell her. Thorin had never had soft feelings before, only towards his family and friends.  But this was quite different. "You cannot fool me, Master Thorin. You're trying to say I'm beautiful." joked Nadina. "Wow, you're smart. I take it you read minds too?" said Thorin.  "Wel Gandalf did tell me I have a gift of reading thoughts. Its very rare among dwarves." said Nadina. "But you're part dwarf. But whom is your mother?" asked Thorin. "You would hate me if I told you whom my mother is. She's not human." said Nadina sadly, remembering what Gandalf had told her. Suddenly, Nadina pulled her hair up in a bun, her pointed ears came to sight. "You have pointy ears. Your mother is an elf?!" gasped Thorin. Nadina sighed. "Yes.Gandalf told me when Orven married Silvania, the dwarven community had shunned them, as well as the elven community. And so the only place they would dwell was in a small village inhabited by men, dwarves, and some elves. Something you rarely see. Then finally one day, their home had been ramsacked by orcs, led by.." began Nadina. "Azog the Defiler." broke in Thorin. "Curse that bastard's name yes." said Nadina quickly.

"Nadina---i'm so sorry--but what happened after that? You were ony a newborn then." said Thorin. "Can I finish the story on the road?" asked Nadina. "Most certainly." smiled Thorin, and the two of them left the room.  Once they arrived at the Green Dragon, Thorin allowed Nadina to share his pony with her. Nadina mounted, and she sat in front of Thorin.  Sitting on a pony brought back memories of going horseback riding with her friends, especialy with Angelina, whos parents owned a horse and pony ranch.  Angelina had also involved in show horses.  "Why aren't we leaving yet?" asked Nadina. "Gandalf insists we should wait on Bilbo.  The wizard strongly believes that the hobbit could change his mind on going." said Thorin.  And the two of them sat silently for a while. Then it was Thorin, who shortly broke the silence.  "Now what about that story of yours, Nadina?" asked Thorin. "Oh yes, about what happened to me after my family died? Well, a witch came, and took me in under her wing.  But apparently she despised my beauty, and my wailings that it was to the point where she couldn't handle being around me.  Word spread of her mistreatment towards me that, it  reached the ears of Elrond, Gandalf the Grey, Galadriel, and Radagast the Brown. This witch seemed to be a mystery to everyone, and no one knew where she came from.  And so it was Gandalf who came to my rescue.  By the time he arrived to take me in his custody, he saw this blue necklace, the one I'm wearing now, around my neck.  One evening, as Gandalf stopped to make camp, he saw me transform into a dragon by nightfall. At the time at was just a baby dragon.
