It didn't take too long after Thorin was brought forth to the cell where Nadina is staying in.  Nadina could see Thorin already in a foul mood. "So, did you make a deal?" Balin asks Thorin. "No. I told him to go (cursing in Khazadul)!" snarled Thorin. Nadina's eyes widened in shock and in amusement. Nadina clearly understood Thorin, because she knew a little of the secret dwarven language, with her being part dwarf herself.   She couldn't help but laugh at the fact Thorin used curse words. "Then, there is no hope for us left." said Balin sadly. "There is still hope, Balin!" said Thorin, remembering that they still have Bilbo, whom is somewhere inside the palace.  "Are you okay, Nadina? The King didn't hurt you did he?" asked Thorin. "No he didn't.  And good news, he won't be getting the necklace. Captain Tauriel told me she refuses to remove my necklace or even take it to him." said Nadina. Thorin looked at Nadina in a surprised yet confused look.  "You mean to tell me that the Elf Captain is going against her King's orders?" asked Thorin. "Yes, it even took me by surprise myself." said Thorin. "So what are we to do now?" asked Nadina. "Just sit and wait, I suppose." sighed Thorin, as he wrapped his arm around Nadina.  Nadina laid her head upon Thorin's chest, closing her eyes.   "Thorin, Nadina!" called out a voice. "Bilbo is that you?" called out Nadina. "Yes, it is me! I'm getting you all out of here!" said Bilbo.

"How did you get past the--?!" began Thorin. "I will save the story for later, Thorin. In the mean time, follow me!" said Bilbo, taking the keys unlocking Thorin and Nadina's cell, as the two walked out.  After Bilbo releases the others from their cells, the hobbit guides them into the wine cellar. They see many barrels gathered around the cellar."And this is your escape plan? We're going to drown!"exclaimed Bofur. "I don't see any wrong in it, as long as it gets us out of here, and by the way, Kili. Stay focus on your barrel and eyes off the red head elf!" joked Angelina. "Hey!" said Kili.  "Into the barrels! NOW!" demanded Thorin. Nadina and Thorin climbed into a barrel together, while Fili and Angelina went into one. KIli went into his own barrel. "What about you, Bilbo? Don't you have a barrel?" called out Nadina."I'll be fine!" said Bilbo.  But he didn't realize what he did went wrong. After Bilbo pulled a lever, releasing the barrels his Companions are in, the door closed after the last barrel, leaving Bilbo alone. Bilbo quickly pulled the lever again, jumping into the river, following the last barrel.

As they floated down the river, Nadina could see Thorin looking quite troubled. "What's wrong, Thorin?" asked Nadina. "I've noticed a change in my youngest nephew. He keeps staring at the Elf Captain." said Thorin. "You know its probably a mere crush and nothing more, Thorin. You have nothing to worry about." said Nadina. "Nothing to worry about? What if they end up meeting together and get close? I'm not going to have it, Nadina!" hissed Thorin. "Thorin---i told you not to worry about it! Its probably a mere crush and nothing more." said Nadina. "I truly hope so." growled Thorin. Suddenly, Nadina and Thorin took notice of elven guards standing on the bridge, and one pulled a lever closing a gate in front of them. "Shit! We've been caught!" hissed Nadina. "No kidding." growled Thorin. Suddenly, it wasn't only the elves that caught Nadina and Thorin's attention, an army of orcs came in attack, led by Bolg, Azog's son. "Find the woman! Kill the King!" barked Bolg loudly.    Suddenly, now there were orcs everywhere, firing arrows at the Company in barrels. "Nadina, DUCK!" ordered Thorin, as the two of them quickly ducked. "Get the woman!!" yelled Bolg. Over my dead body, thought Thorin, as he took out Orcrist, swinging at the orcs.

"How did you manage to get your sword back?" asked Nadina. "Used an old trick Nori had taught me!" Thorin replied  Nadina chuckled.  Nadina remembered Dori telling a story of Nori's thieving days, and he seemed really good at it. In fact, on some occasions, Nori had taken Angelina's mp3 player, and Angelina had to use force by pointing her arrow at the dwarf, making him return it.   "Stay down, Nadina." said Thorin.  "But I just want to see if everyone else is fine!" protested Nadina. Suddenly, to Thorin and Nadina's shock and horror, four pairs of hands reached in and grabbed Nadina. "THORIN!" screamed Nadina. "Get your hands off of her!" barked Thorin, swinging his sword at several of the orc hands reaching in the barrel. But it was too late, one orc already pulled Nadina out of the barrel. "THORIN!!" screamed Nadina. "NADINA!" roared Thorin.  Thorin's heart sunk, as Nadina is gone. The orcs had captured her, and he tried everything he could to stop them from taking her, but he failed doing so.  "I'm sorry, I failed you, Nadina!" said Thorin softly and sadly.
