DISCLAIMER: I do NOT OWN the song, The Rose by Bette Midler.

Author's note: I chosen this song, because its one of my favorite songs of all time, and it would fit the story well.  The song also will be sung again in the next Chapter.

No One's POV:

Thorin strolled back to his and Nadina's chambers, as he entered, he felt quite surprised to see the room now clean from the mess where Nadina had trashed it, and everything was fixed and back into place. Thorin explored the room some more, and then he entered the bedroom, and he saw Nadina sitting up in bed, as he peered through the door, reading a book.  Thorin closed his eyes.  He had not forgotten the harsh words he had spoken to her at the Front Gate, and he really felt terrible for saying them. And he debated to himself on how to approach her to apologize, taking back his horrible words he said to her. But he also knew an apology will not work, since he had messed up the first time with Nadina, when she first had arrived in Erebor. Suddenly, Thorin took notice of his golden harp sitting in the corner, and an idea dawned on him. He remembered how Nadina loved hearing him sing and play his harp, and how his music have moved her, maybe a song could win her back to him.  And so Thorin went for his harp, picking it up, and he began playing, as he entered the bedroom.  The music startled Nadina, and she looked up as she saw Thorin entering the room, playing the harp, and singing.  Nadina could see the sadness in his eyes, and the guilt as he sang and played.

Thorin sat down next to Nadina on the bed, as he continued playing and singing. The words he sang, are from his heart and soul, and the song pierced through Nadina's soul.  Nadina could see the Thorin she knew and love have returned, and wondered what had snapped him out of it, and then she remembered Dis.  Maybe it was Dis whom snapped her brother out of the spell, and to that Nadina owed her.  With a final sweep on the harpstrings, Thorin ended his song, and he placed the instrument aside, turning to Nadina. "Nadina--I'm sorry of what I put you through earlier, and the words I said to you, and it had to take my sister to bring me back, and realize what is more important to me now. Nadina, I love you! I love you more than all the gold in Erebor.  You are my  true jewel, Nadina, and if I lost you, I don't know what I'll do!" Thorin whispered, taking Nadina's hands.

"Thorin.." said Nadina softly. Thorin placed his finger on Nadina's lips. "Shh---I know what you're about to say, love--I will no longer be angry anymore, and if there is anything, anything you want me to do to make it up to you, it an be anything, tell me of you heart's desires, and you will have it." said Thorin. "Thorin, I don't want anything! I just want you!" blurted out Nadina. Thorin smiled, quite satisfied with Nadina's answers, and he pulled her close into his arms. "I was hoping you would say that!" grinned Thorin, he leaned towards her, planting a long  kiss on Nadina's lips. When the kiss broke, Nadina laid head upon Thorin's chest. "And another thing, I am going to make peace with the elves, and I will offer a share of the treasure to Bard and Thranduil." said Thorin. Nadina's eyes widened in shock and surprise, she didn't expect Thorin to say this. "Alright, who are you and what have you done with Thorin?" joked Nadina.  Thorin laughed heartily. "Nadina, I really  mean this." said Thorin, his voice now turning serious. "I know you're serious, Thorin. I'm sorry--what you just said shocked me that's all." said Nadina with a soft chucle. "That's okay love." whispered Thorin, as he gently ran his fingers through Nadina's hair.

Shortly, there was a knock on their door. "Come in!" called out Thorin.  "Its me Balin!"  said the older dwarf behind the door.  "Come in, Balin!" called out Thorin. Balin entered the room. "Bard and Thranduil are still here, if you still wish to speak to them." said Balin. Nadina smiled and looked at Thorin. "Tell them I'll be down shortly." said Thorin. Balin smiled, and he noticed Nadina and Thorin holding hands. "I see you two made up!" said Balin and he winked a the two. "Just go, Balin!" said Thorin and Balin left. "Can I join you?" asked Nadina. "Of course." grinned Thorin, and the two of them climbed out of bed, and they leave the chamber.  Thorin and Nadina met up with Bard and Thranduil in the Great Hall.  The others are in there as well, smiling at the couple as they entered. "I see you two made up! That is good." said Dis. "How did yer win her, Thorin?" asked Bofur, grinning. "He serenading me!" Nadina replied. Bard, Thranduil and the others laughed. "A song always win the hearts of women!" grinned Thranduil.  "Come, you two follow me to the Treasury!" said Thorin. Bard and Thranduil looked at each other and then looked back at Thorin in shock and surprise.
