Warning:  Attempt of suicide

They shortly arrived at the balcony area, when Angelina was the first to notice the disturbing display outside on the balcony. "NADINA STOP!" screamed Angelina running towards her friend, as Angelina noticed Nadina tied up in a noose, Balin and Thorin followed, and they looked upon the scene in shock and horror expressions.  "Nadina, get down from there! You don't have to do this!" cried out Balin. Thorin stood frozen, not knowing what to do now. Angelina looked at Thorin. "I hope you're happy, Thorin Oakenshield. You just threw my friend over the edge!" shouted Angelina, glaring angrily at the dwarf.  "No, no one is going to stop me. I have no reason to be here. Thorin is right, I'm half bred, its true. " said Nadina. "Nadina, I was wrong what I said, I should've never said it. Just take off the rope and get down from there!" spoke up Thorin, as he returned to his normal self.  His heart ached, seeing this display.  "Oh, now you have a change of heart? Isn't it a little too late for that now?" cried out Nadina, tears streaming down her face. "No, its not too late. Just please get down from there!" pleaded Thorin.  "Nadina, listen to Thorin!" said Balin.

Nadina looked at her friend first, then Balin and Thorin lastly.  Nadina slipped the rope off of her, and she climbed down.  "We should leave these two to chat." said Balin to Angelina.  Angelina nodded, and the two of them went back inside leaving Nadina and Thorin alone. "Is there a reason why you are wanting to take your own life, Nadina? You nearly done that with Smaug." said Thorin, calmly. "Thorin, we defeated Smaug. And my curse is broken, I'm no longer a dragon anymore. I'm free, now and you don't see that." said Nadina, tears flowing down her face. The two sat in silence briefly. "I was expecting you to be happy to see me Thorin when I returned." said Nadina, breaking the silence. "Nadina, I don't know what came over me earlier. I was not myself, and if I said anything to hurt you, I'm sorry--I'm really truly sorry--!" began Thorin, and he turned away so Nadina wouldn't see him tear up.  His voice choked in emotions.  "Balin warned me you would succumb into sickness, but not this soon." said Nadina sadly. Thorin looked at Nadina. "Nadina, we will get through this--but I cannot go through this alone--Nadina, I'm--scared." said Thorin, as tears flowing down his face.

Thorin never was the one who was ever scared of anything, but this, realizing the sickness had came to him, and his concern now mainly focused on Nadina's well being. "Thorin, you have friends and family surrounding you, and together we will help you fight this. You are much stronger than that, don't let it control you--and Thorin, there is another thing I want to say to you, and do not get angrty at me. But its time for you to let go of your differences against the elves. There is more darker forces at work, and the elves and men are great allies. Please think over this for a while. After all, you made a promise to the people in Lake Town, you will give them a share of the gold to help them." said Nadina. Thorin bowed his head. "I'l think about it." said Thorin. Thorin looked into Nadina's eyes, as he reached his hand, brushing it on Nadina's face. "I am glad you have returned to us safely, love! And your curse is broken, which makes me more happy than anything in the world!" whispered Thorin, as he pulled Nadina into his arms., kissing her passionately.

When they broke their kiss, Nadina laid her head upon Thorin's chest, as Thorin ran his fingers through her hair. "We will get through this!" sighed.Thorin, kissing Nadina on the cheek. As the two sat together for a while, Thorin gently nudged Nadina. "Shall we join the others in the Great Hall? I have a surprise for you!" whispered Thorin. "What's the surprise?" asked Nadina. "Nadina, I'm not going to tell you, that's what make it a surprise!" grinned Thorin, gently helping Nadina to stand up. Nadina smiled in return, and they walked back inside, returning to the Great Hall.

Later inside the Great Hall, Thorin brought forward several things from the Treasure Room.  First, Thorin turned to Bilbo, giving the hobbit a chain shirt made of mithril. Bilbo gracious accepted the gift, and quickly put it on underneath his shirt and jacket. "You truly look like a hobbit prince now! Can you imagine all the hobbit maidens chasing after you!" joked Angelina. "Well, there is one--But I don't know, if I decided to court her, it would be a scandal. She's the daughter of Lobelia and Otho Sackville-Baggins, and those two, are not really the type of people I want hanging around my home all the time--they're very greedy--and well, you know." said Bilbo. "But they are your family Bilbo. There has to be a way of you getting along with them somehow." said Nadina.  Bilbo nodded. "Lobelia has a very short fuse, anything you say to her, would anger her. It is just how she is." said Bilbo.  "Maybe she needs a good kick in the pants." said Thorin. Nadina laughed. "And who would be the one to do that?" asked Nadina. "Me!" said Bilbo.   "I would love to see that!" chuckled FIli.
