3rd Person POV
Hansol slumped down outside the door, distraught upon hearing Joshua's sobbing from inside the room. He knew he looked like a fool, he could tell by the number of stares he got by the passing nurses.
He never knew things could get this bad, he never knew he'd ever make Joshua cry this hard within their first year of dating. He blamed himself for it all. Wishing it was all a dream, he pinched his arm.
He didn't know what to do, thoughts raced everywhere in his mind.
'What if he doesn't trust you anymore?'
'What if he doesn't want to see you?'
'Will we ever recover?'
So many questions. He knew he'd have to face the older one eventually, both of them are overwhelmed right now. Hansol knew that it was probably better to wait until they've both calmed down.
He clutched the flowers tightly but he was still careful not to ruin them.
"Alright, I'll just wait until he's asleep." He thought, "Maybe it might cheer him up a bit when he wakes up." Hansol wiped a few tears away. "Come on, everything will be alright." He reassured himself, repeating his mother's words. "Don't overreact, or it'll just make the situation wors-"
"You ok there, buddy?"
Hansol felt a hand on his shoulder, and he looked up to meet that familiar face. "Not really." Hansol began, "I lost my shit at Jisoo, and now he's crying." he really wanted to slap himself for that.
Sooyoung looked at the flowers and the drawn curtains inside the room, chewing on her bottom lip. "Tell you what, if you're enough of a man, you'd have gone in there by now. You still want to save your pride?" She said encouragingly, she knew what she was doing. "Come on, boy, get in there!" Sooyoung was careful not to raise her voice too much so Joshua wouldn't hear. "Just make sure not to get too spicy, he's still recovering." Of course she'd throw in a joke like that, it's just part of her shameless personality.
Hansol took a deep breath, and Sooyoung gave him a sweet smile that practically said, "It's going to be ok." before tentatively opening the door.
He carefully approached the bed, trying not to burst into tears himself. He'd never seen his boyfriend like this before. It shocked him, and he was overwhelmed with guilt knowing that he was the cause of all this.
Slowly, he moved Joshua's hands, making the older freeze in shock as a bouquet was placed in them. Hansol pulled Joshua into a warm hug, "I'm so sorry I hurt you," he whispered, "It's not your fault, I was out of my mind to say such harsh words to you." for the second time that week, tears were freely running down his cheeks. "I love you, and I understand if you don't trust me anymore, or if you want to brea-" Joshua cut him off with a kiss.
He pulled away pretty soon to talk. "I'd never break up with you, you idiot. I love you, and you know that. One mistake isn't going to make me hate you."
That was all Hansol needed to know, that he hasn't completely messed things up.
The two gazed in eachother's eyes for a short amount of time, foreheads pressed against eachother. Their lips slowly came closer and closer until they were literal nanometers away.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
Closing off the gap, they were soon too engulfed in eachother to notice anything else. In a normal situation, anyone would say it was gross, both mouths tasted of tears (and maybe a bit of snot), but they were lost again, words completely forgotten. Joshua sat up so that it would be a bit more comfortable for them, loving the way Hansol felt so warm pressed against him. Joshua knew that he belonged in Hansol's arms, there was no other way things would work.
Hansol loved Joshua and Joshua loved Hansol.
It's as simple as that.
