I know this is rather late and it's coming to the end of the month but I wanted to show my support to the LGBTQ+ community.
The song above is what Demi Lovato sang in 2014 for the Pride Festival and I believe it demonstrates the attitude people should adopt towards the LGBTQ+ community.
The reason that there is a Pride Month is so everyone in the LGBTQ+ community can celebrate them being themselves. The reason why we don't have "straight" Or heterosexual celebrations is because that is seen as "normal" and something that happens everyday. "Straight" people didn't have to fight for the right to freely love whoever they choose however homosexuality has been frowned upon for centuries. They had to fight for the right to love whoever they chose regardless of gender.
Personally, I don't care if someone is or isn't LGBTQ+. To me they're just another hunan being who deserves the same treatment as everyone. They just happen to be attracted to the same gender or where unsatisfied with the gender they were born with and changed to the one they prefer to be. It really doesn't affect anything.
I have a lot of LGBTQ+ friends and they're amazing but that is down to their personality, not because of their sexual attraction. I have watched two gays kissing and I was grossed out because it's two people kissing not because its two guys. My "straight" friends, who are a couple, were kissing in front of me and I was equally disgusted purely because it was kissing. A real life example of how it is no different.
People should be proud to show that they're part of the LGBTQ+ community.
This book is another way I show my support to the LGBTQ+ community. I could easily choose not to write male x male reader stories and purely write male x female however I don't think that's fair.
