Killian stared at the boy. He'd gone completely white in the face and looked faint. He began to realize that he had done to Lucas, what Pan had done to him (but debatably worse; he had his innocence stolen as a young man, but Lucas was a child who was forced to mature and see the harsh realities of the world too soon)
"Ay, lad," He started, "I'm sorry." Killian tried to say more, to explain himself, but he couldn't. There wasn't anything left to say. He had let his petty revenge deeply affect two young boys, and there was no getting around that. He pulled the weakened teenage into his arms and hugged him.
Lucas felt paralyzed. He'd pictured this encounter hundreds, if not thousands, of times but in no scenario did he ever think that Killian would actually apologize. Despite their parent's marriage, Lucas did not consider him family in the least, however, he acknowledged their shared history and found new respect for the pirate.
They began to walk back to the group, but Lucas stayed behind. Peering around a huge crypt, he silently beckoned for Maya to slip away from everyone to join him.
The blonde pushed a strand of wavy hair behind her ear and cocked an eyebrow. She hesitantly walked towards him, and the second she was in reach, he grabbed her forearms and pulled her behind the crypt.
His eyes smoldered as he towered over her. Maya's back was pressed up against the cold stone, with nowhere to go, or even to look except his glistening green eyes. His hands slid up to her face and he kissed her, hard. Maya's knees buckled a little, and as his hands made their way down to her waist, she threw her arms around his neck. She pressed her body up against his and felt how fast his heart was beating. As he pulled away from her lips, he rested his forehead against hers. "Damn Friar, what was that for?" She mumbled, completely out of breath. "Maya, we're here. We're now. We don't know how much time we have, and I'm so tired of waiting for the perfect time to be together. I want you. I know you want me." Maya tilted her head and gave a challenging stare. "Don't oversell yourself, huckleberry. You don't know what I want."
"Really Hart? Your lips would beg to differ."
"You're an asshole," she smiled and grabbed the back of his neck to pull his lips to hers.
