They walked down the stairs, and four sets of eyes turned up to see them. And there he was, in all his glory. Bloody glory, mind you. Beaten, bruised, swollen, handless glory. She tried to act calm as she walked towards him. Emma, hand still protectively on his shoulder, said, "Killian, this is-"
"- I'm Maya. Emma's friend. She looked after me for a while when she was 16. In the system." Maya said quickly. She thought on her toes, recalling Emma telling her that for the majority of her life she thought she was an orphan. She put two and two together and realized that this must have meant she was in the foster system when she was younger. She looked at Emma, straining to send her a message with her eyes, "Wasn't I a cute baby Emma?"
The woman narrowed her eyes, but nodded. "Yes, so this is Maya. I've know her since she was young."
Killian's gaze looked puzzled as her met Maya's eyes, but he moved on from her gaze. He scanned the faces of everyone else in the room, Riley, Henry, his Swan, but faltered when he saw Lucas.
Lucas's eyes screamed a warning, he moved his head microscopically to the left than right, and his brow furrowed. Maya watched the two, trying to understand what was happening.
"If you kids don't mind, I would like some alone time with Killian. Is that alright?" Emma said, so quietly my that she was barely audible.
"Yes, of course. We'll just... Go find the Charming's, Regina and Robin." Riley said, grabbing Mayas hand and yanking her out of the house. Lucas and Henry followed closely behind.
