"You totally embarrassed us" my mum screamed at me.
We just got home a few minutes ago. My mum didn't even let me go upstairs to undress. Immediately we got to the living room, she started shouting.
"I told you not to bring that boy. Now, everyone will think my daughter is irresponsible! I was even convincing the women to let me join their club. How am I gonna get in now?"
I didn't want to fight so I just apologized.
"I'm sorry"
''Sorry can't fix anything! My night is ruined and so is my life"
Steve tried to calm her down but she pushed him away violently.
"Calm down. I'm sure it was all a misunderstanding" Steve said.
"How? Her boyfriend stole Damien's money"
"For all we know, it could be a set up"
"Oh please. Damien is too mature for that"
That's what you think, huh?
"Let's just go into the room and relax, alright?"
"Fine. I'll deal with you later" she said, pointing at me.
Oh! I'm shaking in fear. Note the sarcasm.
Gerald wrapped his arm around me as we went upstairs.
"That was very interesting" he joked.
"Tell me about it. I have to go bail Drew out. I'm not sure about the police station"
"I'm sure it's the one down the street, Damien is too lazy to call anyone farther"
Gerald never liked Damien even when we were going out. I wish I trusted his intuition.
"I may not know Drew much but I doubt he's a thief"
"That boy... He's so.... So.... "
"Arrogant? Proud? Desperate to get back with you?"
"Yes! Exactly"
"He just wants you by all means"
"I tried to tell him I've moved on"
He stopped and smiled at me
"You really like Drew, don't you?"
"Yes, I do"
"I never thought I'd see this day"
I laughed "Don't start with me boy"
"It's getting late. You should go look for him"
"Yeah"
"I'll call Pablo to get ready. Go dress up"
"Thank you"
I hugged him tightly.
He might be annoying sometimes but he's still the best brother a girl can ask for.
I went to my room and got dressed in a sweatshirt and jeans with sneakers. It's just the police station. I don't need to wear anything fancy.
I grabbed my phone and walked downstairs and out of the house
As promised, Pablo was waiting outside. I got in the backseat.
"Where to miss?" He asked.
"The nearest police station"
"The one right down the street?"
"Yeah. I'm looking for Drew. I bet you know what happened "
"Alright"..
