I wake to feel nauseous and notice that I was in a dark dungeon. But I wasn't alone. There were people. Women, children, and a few men. The cell door opens letting little light in. The guards drag an elderly woman into the cell with us and leaves. I stand and walk to her. "Madam, why are they locking us up?" I asked her guiding her to a wall so we can sit. "They are scared little one. They believe us to threaten there existence. Their god." My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. The town was Catholic predominantly. But some of us didn't practice worship at all.

"So the lock us up because we do not worship. Let alone worship their god?" The Madam smiles and takes my hand in hers. "My son. Our race is still young, and we will continue to make mistakes that'll destroy us. You have to look for the best in us" I nodded in understanding. "They came to my house asking for a witch, why?" Madam looked at me with a serious stare.

"They are going to burn anyone the town deems as a witch. My son, a witch is someone who practices magic. They worship different gods depending on the bloodline. But it all started with the Trinity. They have different names. Good, Evil, Chaos. Destruction, Creation, and wisdom. And some might say beast, man, and deity" I listened carefully.

I tilted my head in slight confusion. "Madam why are-" I went into a fit of coughing before running to the side and heaving out what tasted of blood. I stood up dizzily and made my way back to the elderly woman.

Madam stood up and held me. "My son, you are unwell" a guard opens the door looks around and his eyes wonder to me. "You," he said gruffly. Madam lets me go but not before resting a kiss on my forehead. The guard looked at me. "What's your age kid" I stared at him. His helmet only bore his eyes. I was searching them for any truth but they were void of emotion. He wasn't human(in an emotional way) at all. and that scared me.

"Seventeen sire" I answered. He grunted and left the doorway. I Walked around to check on everyone else. Some people stay quietly like Madam. And some just sneered at me. A mother and her daughter around my age answered me and were shaken up by the events as I had been. But I hid it well.

A girl walks in and hands people half a loaf and a bowl of water. She didn't get thanks as she was helping the people that betrayed us.

I have no idea what happened to Ma, Pa or lily. And my heart quickened. What if they're dead. Lily was so young. I couldn't protect them. Tears welled in my eyes and the girl made her way to me and sat a bowl next to me and the loaf in my hands. "You must fill better knowing that women and children are going to die." She looked at me and didn't speak. "I have no control over your deaths. That's for the townspeople to discuss. I am a pawn, and will remain as one" she stood and left.

I stood as well and walked to Madam giving her my share of food. She took the water and left me the loaf. "Eat." She said and I did so not arguing. The doors opened again and people were being dragged. It all made me sick. There was another girl my age and she was thrown in still putting up a fight. Looking around before her eyes settled on Madam.

"Nana!!!" She exclaimed her voice wavering as she ran to Madam. The same girl I had spoken to, The "Pawn", walked in and sat The new girl some food. The new girl glares after her. "Morrigan This is Baldur" and before I go, I have my last will." We looked at each other and gave each other nods. Madam held out two vials and gave one to us. "Drink up" We pop the corks and down the drink. Madam smiles and we pass out. But before my eyes, close Madam seems to escape my vision.
