A/N Hey guys! I know my last oneshot was pretty dark and angsty, so here is a Fitz x Linh coffee shop au! I hope you enjoy! If you do, don't forget to vote and comment!~~Boneless👽
No matter how hard he tried to stay focused, Fitz's eyes kept drifting towards the small girl hunched over a faded, yellowing notebook. Her silky black hair was dyed silver at the tips, which hung all the way down to her waist. Linh, he thought to himself, remembering the many times she had ordered a black coffee frkm him.
The strange thing was, she would hardly ever drink it whenever she ordered. Between fervent pencil strokes on the paper she kept in front of her, she would take a tiny sip, grimace, and set her cup back down. She wouldn't even take the coffee with her when she left.
Fitz had tried to see what it was that she was always working on, but Linh was careful enough to always hide the project that she brought in with her every day.
"Fitz. Fitz!" He was dragged out of his trance by his coworker, Sophie. The two once had a brief relationship, but it wasn't right for either of them. Besides, they were even better friends.
"Stop staring at her! You look like a creep!" Fitz wrung his hands together, trying to protest Sophie's statements, but his mouth just flapped open, being useless.
"You're lucky there's hardly anybody here," Sophie said, sticking a straw into the lid of a cup. "Frappuchino for Dex!" Sophie called out. She was right. For a Starbucks, they were having a particularly slow day, not that Fitz particularly minded.
"No family discount?" Dex asked Sophie, leaning onto the counter.
"Dex, I hardly get discounts, and I work here."
"Meh, it was worth a shot. What's on Wonderboy's mind?" He asked.
"It's that girl right there," Sophie said, pointing to Linh.
"First," Fitz said, "it's Fitz, not Wonderboy, second, no."
"Whatever you say, Wonderboy," Dex said, sliding his credit card to pay. "Why don't you make a move?"
Fitz smirked at Dex. "You're giving me relationship advice?"
"No, I'm giving you advice on how to start a relationship," Dex said, taking a sip of his coffee. Immediatley, he pushed it away from him and stuck out his tongue, fanning it. "HOT! HOT! HOT!"
Fitz chuckled. "Quite the love doctor you are," he said.
"This is why we can't have nice things," Sophie said, sliding Dex a cup of water. He downed it in a single gulp. "Thanks," he said, grabbing his coffee.
"Tell the triplets hi for me!" Sophie called after Dex, who waved, thankfully with the empty hand.
"Dex is right, you know," Sophie said, turning to Fitz. "Give her your number, your name, anything!"
An exasperated Fitz turned to look at Linh, hoping she hadn't overheard anything. His curious gaze was met with one of her own, her unpresuming face peering out from under the hair that fell at the side of her face. Fitz immediately looked away as soon as his eyes met her. He rubbed the back of his neck as he walked hastily through the swinging doors to the back. He undid his apron, balling it up and throwing it at the blonde boy with his face glued to the screen of his phone.
"Wait-what?" the boy asked, fumbling with the apron.
"I'm taking a break," Fitz explained. "Fortnite can wait, Keefe."
Keefe sighed, pocketing his phone and tying up the apron.
"It's that girl, isn't it?" Keefe asked. His question was met with Fitz's silence. "So it is!"
