Lauren couldn't believe she had just heard his voice in her hospital room. The last time she had heard that voice, it was dead and cold. It made her feel an indescribable feeling. She understood that he was scared about the news, but what he didn't understand was that she was just as scared. It didn't help much that he left her with the thought that he wasn't coming back, leaving her to make some huge life decisions by herself.
She could feel herself start to shake as she grabbed Dinah's shoulder and looked over her. He was sitting on the couch, legs crossed, and looking at Dinah with the same look she had on her face. But Dinah didn't show a sign of letting her glare down.
Normani could sense Dinah's fear as she looked at Ty, but she knew Dinah was also very angry at him for showing up in Lauren's room without a warning. She took Lauren's hand and pulled her behind her and pulled on Dinah's waist, but Dinah wasn't budging. She grabbed Normani's hand in her shaking one.
"Babe, let me in. Just calm down, we'll all just go in there and let them talk it out alright?" Normani whispered into Dinah's ear. Dinah slowly nodded and walked into the room making sure her to keep ahold of her girlfriends hand and an eye on Lauren.
They all entered the room, Ally and Lauren on the bed and Dinah in a chair next to the bed with Normani in her lap. They all looked at Ty and he looked back at them, but glared hard at Dinah. His green eyes that Lauren had always seen as soft and loving weren't the same anymore. It made her sad and scared. Scared of what he would say to her, how he would continue to react, how he would respond to the other girls. Lauren took a deep breath, trying to settle herself before Dinah started to worry about her again.
"We told you to wait the waiting room until she was ready. The whole point of waiting out there was to not make her panic." Dinah said pointing to Lauren but still looking at Ty.
"She's fine. Look at her, she ain't panicking. I just came to talk about all this shit, D."
"Don't fucking call me 'D' like I'm your friend because, right now, I don't even want you around. You've been with her for a year, we've been by her side for 4 years. You don't know shit about her right now, she may not looked panicked to you but she sure as hell is."
Lauren pressed a hand to her stomach and pulled her knees up a little bit. She was beginning to get stressed and she knew it would do her no good to continue listening to the two people argue and bicker. She laid her head back and closed her eye, taking in a big breath again. Ally laid a hand on her cheek and whispered an "it's okay, Lolo." in her ear. Lauren nodded and continued to calm herself by taking a deep breaths. She laid there for a while just concentrating on her own mind. She needed to get into the right head space. And for her, that meant planning things.
She thought about the gender reveal, she really liked the idea of a powder reveal, maybe even in a balloon. She knew she wanted to do a yellow/gray themed baby shower, she had always loved that idea. Maybe she would even throw in some stars.
After a while of thinking, she had come up with some perfect ideas. She would have her baby shower with only close family and friends, people she could trust because she would have a gender reveal cake that would she would cut into and reveal the gender to everyone there. She would then do another gender reveal, but this one in public, like at a show or something. She smiled at herself while thinking about it all.
But she was soon brought out her own little world when she felt a new presence right beside her. She opened her eyes and jumped slightly to see Ty standing right beside her. He smiled at her but she didn't return his gesture. She looked at Dinah who nodded her head and patted Normani's, thigh telling her to get off. They all stood up and walked over to the door.
