Lauren laid back on on her green and blue polka dotted beach towel and sighed as the warm sun spread across her body. She had made it to Miami with Quinn for Thanksgiving. They were only staying for five days before they had to go back to Los Angeles to get ready for the tour, so Lauren planned to make the most out these five days.
The first day she landed in Miami was spent at her childhood home with her family, watching as they all coddled Quinn. But she didn't have a problem with it. It gave her some time to set up and unpack what they needed in her old bedroom for the next few days. She was even able to get in a very short nap. The next day Lauren and Clara went out to the grocery store to get the remaining food they needed for Thanksgiving day. Her mother had most things at home, but having such a large family coming over to eat meant that they needed to have extra food just incase.
The day before Thanksgiving was surprisingly laid back. She was finally able to spend some much needed time with Chris and Taylor at the beach while her parents watched after Quinn for a little bit. Chris was nice enough to take both of his sisters out for a little lunch date at a small diner, out for ice cream, and then to where the sand met the water.
They had ran around in the water for a while and joked around, building sandcastles and looking for shells until Lauren had decided she needed a break. While the hot weather surrounded her and she laid back with closed eyes, she listens to her brother and sister joke around and giggle from the water.
She couldn't help the smile that spread across her face at the sound of the two. One day that could be her own children laughing and splashing each other with water while her and Ty sat in the sand and watched with smiles on their faces. It made her feel a sense joy that she had only felt a couple times in life.
Her heart felt warm and she was quick to sit up and a grab her phone from her bag and snap a few candids without trying to be caught. And unfortunately to her luck, she was caught by Taylor who gave her disapproving look.
"You better delete those. I look like a toad." The younger girl said and sat down next to Lauren.
"Oh please. You always look adorable." Lauren commented as she flipped through the pictures before locking her phone and sticking back in her bag.
"Whatever you say. Anyways, are you ready to start working again?" Taylor asked and handed Chris a towel so he could dry off.
Lauren groaned and shook her head. "Physically, yes. Emotionally, no. I'm ready to go back, but at the same time I want to stay on the couch and relax for a while longer and not stress about everything."
"When is it over? The tour, I mean." Chris asked as he sat down next to them.
"In May, but there's a couple breaks in December and April." Lauren sighed.
"That seems like a really long time." Taylor said. "But maybe you can skip some shows if you need to."
"Yeah. Maybe." Lauren said, sighing again.
After playing around for a little longer, the three decided to head back to their home and get things ready for the next day. Mike and Taylor set things around the table and cleaned up the house a little. Lauren helped her mom in the kitchen, preparing dinner and the food for tomorrow while Chris fed Quinn.
"Cradle his neck, Chris." Lauren told him from the stove as she stirred a pot of carrots. She could tell Chris was struggling with finding the correct position to hold the small child and he was getting frustrated, but Lauren knew he would never admit it.
