Lauren could feel the alcohol in her veins- two Martinis. She was in a club in Santa Monica after Fifth Harmony's new single, Work from Home, had released a music video that day. Everything about the process had been amazing, coming up with the verses, hearing the other girls verses, recording it, releasing it, filming the music video, and most importantly meeting her boyfriend, Ty. The Ty Dolla Sign.
She had heard of him before they established that he would be in their new single, how he was a womanizer and other terrible things that she would have never dreamed of falling for. In fact, she had no doubt that they would get along during the whole process, but after being around him for a while she realized that he wasn't a terrible person. Hell, he's probably one of the sweetest guys she's ever had the pleasure of meeting. He treated her like a princess, maybe even a queen.
She's never had the best of luck with relationships in the past years. They've all been sabotaged by their fans, specifically the overbearing Camren shippers. She understood the reasons they believed she was madly in love with Camila, but it was never something that had happened. She doesn't mind the few small comments that she gets when she posts something on Twitter or Instagram that includes Ty, but some people won't stop at just comments here and there.
Bringing her out of her thoughts, she felt a pair of distinctively familiar arms wrap around her, seeing as they've been wrapped around her many times before. She smiled and turned around to put her arms around Ty's neck and he leaned down to put his forehead on hers. She closed her eyes to just enjoy the feeling of being in his arms, slightly swaying with him to music that didn't match compared to the grinding everyone else was doing. They didn't care. They were with each other and that's what mattered. After a few minutes Ty finally decided to speak up, although it was hard to hear him.
"Hey baby?" He said, like a question. Lauren only hummed back, seeing as she was feeling a little tired and Ty could sense that. "Maybe we should go home, relax, sleep a little bit. It's been a long day judging by the way you're half asleep in an extremely loud place." He suggested, knowing she would fight it until he had to carry her to the car because she was too tired or too drunk to walk.
She moved her head to his shoulder and rested her head. She knew she was exhausted, but she wanted to be here with her girls. She also didn't want to be the one who had leave just because she was a little tired. She needed to wake herself up. She needed to be here with her girls celebrating this. Of course there would be other single release parties, but she felt the need to be at all of them. She was a part of the band anyways.
"No" she said softly, but loud enough from him to hear, "I need to be here, this is important for them." She looked over at Normani and Dinah who were laughing and talking to a couple of dudes who seemed just as gay as the other couple was and Ally wasn't too far away from them grinding on a boy with short blonde hair and a basketball tank top on, Camila wasn't in sight but she was around somewhere, Lauren was sure of it. "Just look at them, they're all having fun and you should be too. We've all worked hard for this, and you have too. I'm not going to take that joy away from any of you just because im a little tired." She said sternly and looking at him with tired eyes that dialted slowly.
He looked it her bright green eyes, almost like he was searching for an excuse to take her home and lay down with her. But he knew he wanted to stay just as bad as she did. "Okay, fine," He said with a slight smile "But we're only staying for another hour, you really need to get home and sleep baby." He rubbed her cheek with his thumb while cupping his face.
She smiled up at him and pecked his soft lips. "Thank you, lovely. Now let's go dance." She looked at him while bitting her lower lip and wiggling her eyebrows. He smiled and took her hand and followed her to the dance floor.
