It was Tuesday morning, the period right before lunch. Alexandra was sitting in the far corner next to the window as always. She waited for the teacher to walk in as the students in the class spoke loudly, taking the opportunity since the teacher wasn't in class.

Over the weekend, Al didn't do much but go to her part-time job at the cafe and do homework. She hasn't spoken to her bestie Emmeline, in a while and was growing rather bored without her. Alexandra stared at the door, waiting for Em to enter at any moment. Second period was the one class she had with the whole gang, her brother excluded since he was a year older.

Benji and Nate had already been inside the class, sitting behind the curly-haired girl and having a hushed conversation. Since the whole dilemma, Alexandra had always felt tense when they were near, but nothing beat the feeling she always got when Leo walked into the room and sat in front of her. Emmeline would always be there for the girl and give her some sort of moral support. Now that the two girls haven't spoken, she felt as if she was on her own.

You see, the gang would always sit next to each other; Emmeline next to Alexandra, Benji behind Emmeline, Nate behind Alexandra and Leonardo in front of Alexandra. It was the perfect seating arrangement for the squad since they could all sit and talk all they wanted and it would go unnoticed most of the time.

As the girl continued to stare at the door, Emmeline came in rushing, thinking that she was late. The brunette looked at the front of the class and noticed there was no teacher, walking over to her seat calmly. As she walked, she noticed Al staring. She felt something inside of her turn as she became nervous to go sit next to Al. The girls went through this awkward moment every time they saw each other. Alexandra removed her eyes and felt Emmeline sit next to her, setting her bag down next to her. Emmeline cleared her throat, putting her textbooks down on the desk's far corner.

The three boys noticed the tension and all subconsciously agreed to not point it out or try to break it. Leo hadn't spoken to the boys or Emmeline about his and Al's "new" friendship because there was nothing to say. They hadn't spoken in a week since she had agreed to stop ignoring him but that was exactly what she was doing. At least, that's what he felt.

Not only was Al ignoring him but so were the boys and Emmeline. Nobody had spoken to anybody in the last week, breaking off any type of communication with each other. Benji and Nate weren't talking and nobody had the answer as to why. The group had slowly broken apart when the reason why they started distancing themselves actually started to talk again. It was all very confusing and nobody had a reason to why they had broken off.

The silence was slowly killing the two girls. Emmeline missed Alex so much and needed her back in her life. The last week has been actual torture without having her amazing best friend by her side. A friendship like the one they had was rare because most of the girls at this school secretly envied each other. None of the girls seemed to know what self-love and respect were.

Alexandra started to ask herself why they weren't talking in the first place. Why had she stopped speaking to Emmeline? Why was she trying to hide from her friends when they're the ones who could actually help her? What was the point of hiding? Why couldn't she just let her friends in? Alexandra came to the conclusion that zoning out her friends wasn't helping anyone, not herself and not them. She was going to finally let herself out of the dark she has been in for the last three months. It was time let herself heal for real this time.

The group stayed silent, not hearing a single word coming from anybody. The whole class was super loud yet this one section of the room was dead silent. They all stared at each other's head or down at their desks. In this class, the seat you sat in from the beginning of the semester would be your seat 'til the end of it, even if you tried asking to change seats.

Emmeline opened her books and started doodling. She had to get her mind off the situation she was in with her friend. Her head felt as if it would explode with how many thoughts were floating around her head; thoughts of Alexandra, thoughts of Benji. She needed to get her head out of her ass and get Alexandra to forgive her. She couldn't just give up on her friend so easily. A friendship like theirs couldn't end like this.

Emmeline turned to Alexandra just as Alexandra turned to Emmeline, "I'm sorry," they both said at once. Their thoughts had both seemed to be the same; getting their bestie back. Alexandra and Emmeline both smiled at each other, happy that their thoughts weren't one-sided as the two girls hugged tightly.

"I missed you so much," Emmeline sighed into Al's hair as she somehow hugged her best friend tighter. "I'm so sorry, I-"

Alexandra pulled out of her embrace and stared at the girl quite seriously. "There's nothing you should be sorry about. I don't even know why I ignored you for so long. I knew I needed space but-I don't know," Alexandra rambled, slowly bringing herself to a stop as she realized she didn't know where she was going. "I should be sorry." Emmeline smiled at her, grateful to have a friend like her.

The boys stared at the two girls, eyes slightly wide, except for Benji who had a small smile playing on his lips. He was happy for the girls and was glad they were "finally back to being the kickass besties" they were before.

Alexandra let out a sigh, turning to look at the two boys behind her, "And I'm also sorry for ignoring you guys. What happened between Leo and me, was his doing and I should have heard you guys out," she looks between the two and smiles softly. "I actually kinda blamed you guys a little and that's not completely fair, so I'm sorry for that too."

Benji was the first to break out into a grin and speak, "It was about time. No woman has ever ignored me or stayed away from me for that long. I was starting to worry for you." He leans back into his chair, hands coming to the back of his head as the grin never left his face.

Emmeline dropped her head slightly as Alexandra couldn't help but laugh and roll her eyes at the blonde boy. She hadn't realized how much she had missed the crazy, cocky boy. She turned to look at Nate and noticed he wasn't sharing the same light-heartedness that Benji was showing. His hard expression soon softened as he smiled back at her, giving her a small nod in approval, Nate never being one for words.

That's when she turned to Leo, taking the others by surprise and waiting anxiously to see what she was going to do. "I know I said we'd be friends again, so hi," she smiled slightly, trying her best to cover her nerves. "I promise to be less self-involved from now on." she smirked at him, waiting for some sort of reply.

"Okay," was the only thing that came out of Leo's mouth as he smiled back at her before the teacher walked in, the class about begin.
