chapter eight: this is so unsanitary
"Demons, hide behind my back and i can't see them"- ( better man, 5 seconds of summer )
june 1989 - remalenn's pov
Flattening out my semi, flattering blue tank top. I tucked it into a pair of lightly pigmented red shorts. They matched my hoodie which I left open, rolling up my sleeves. Knowing that I could tie it around my waist if necessary. I knew I wanted it since my ribs were easily seen through the thin material.
It was super hot out, so I tied my hair back with a blue bow, though it didn't help much as my hair curled up in the ends based in my lower back. Completing the outfit with a pair of red galoshes. Knowing that there was no way I getting out of going to the quarry.
Looking up into the mirror, above my dresser. My eyes were still puffy, from the night before. The horrific nightmare didn't help either but, Stanley did.
Having him by my side always brought a smile to my face. Always. I of course haven't told him about what I remembered. I tried not to think about it. We were just friends of course. I just have never been more trusting of someone in my life, a warm feeling brought to my chest as I remembered how hurt his face was. Not angry, but passionate and I really hoped that he could help me get better. I haven't felt like that in years.
Stomping down the hallway dramatically. I walked by Richie's room hitting his door, "Wake your lazy ass up!"
"Remalenn language!", A loud voice boomed from the kitchen.
"Sorry, Mom!", I responded quietly. Hitting Richie's door again, "Are you up yet!"
A muffled moan and angry grunt came from the teen boy's room. Signaling he was awake. I skipped down the hallway.
Being drawn by the smell of freshly cut fruit. My mother stood over our island cutting and chopping a mixture of fruits. Tossing them into a bowl.
Strolling over I looked down, they looked delicious and I swallowed down and I fished one out. Dropping it into my mouth, and missing so it rolled on the floor. I think I looked really stupid, cause Richie burst into a fit of laughter.
"You know Rem, I actually missed having you in the house."
Rolling my eyes, and fetching the strawberry off the ground. Tossing it at my brother. For him they toss it into his mouth.
I scrunched my nose, "You're disgusting you know that."
"Kids!"
Our heads shot up at my mother. She pushed her black curly hair behind her ear. Her forehead showing slight wrinkling. Her brow used to furrow when she was mad, and though her wrinkles were more distinct her brow wasn't furrowed. I was so relieved she wasn't angry with me anymore.
"Sorry mom", Richie said flatly. I nodded smirking slightly.
My mother gestured to the table. Where me and Richie sat down across from each other. Kicking each other when my mom wasn't looking. Glaring occasionally. Similar to what any sibling would do.
Right now, I was actually looking forward to the smell of some shitty water.

"Hi-ho silver away!", Bill screamed.
"Let's move on guys.", Eddie insisted, maneuvering his bike in front of me and Stan.
An even louder, "Your old lady bikes too fast for us!". Coming from no other than my brother.
