" and to the weather , last night's tsunami claimed the lives of many..." John turned off the radio, he was tired of hearing the news reporter's voice, the young woman sounded unaffected by the great damage the tsunami caused.
John decided it was time for him to go out, he stayed at home for the last couple of days, avoiding the dangerous event that mother nature threw at the small port town, he knew that out there a mess awaits him but he and Billy , his shepherd dog, needed fresh air.
"Come on Billy !" John called the dog as he opened the creaking wood door, he should repair it but he was too lazy for that.
His cabin was located near the shore , a bit far from the town, it was a miracle that the it still stood, he knew that with this island's weather it was a matter of time before the cabin will fall apart, yet he couldn't picture himself living anywhere but there.
The cold wind immediately attacked him, his coat barely keeping him warm , Billy barked and ran forward , enjoying the outdoor , John laughed and followed the dog, letting him lead the way.
The sea swarmed and roared , the waves harshly crashing on the shore, John knew that it was useless to check his fishing nets, they are probably shredded or lost in the raging sea.
He breathed deeply , taking the freezing air to his lungs.
He already missed the comfort of his cabin , water drops from the waves gathered on his face, he scratched his stubble and sighed , he won't get paid if he doesn't have fish.
The shore was a mess of seaweeds and branches along with human made trash that drifted to the shore .
"Let's go Billy !" John shouted but the dog was no where to be found , "Billy ?" John tried again but heard only the wind.
"Stupid dog," he muttered , he searched with his eyes and spotted the dog barking next to a fallen tree that half of it brushed the waves .
John called for the dog to return only to be ignored , John groaned and made his way to the shepherd .
"I swear Billy sometimes you're just-" he stopped mid sentence when he saw what laid near the dog, " god help me!" He rushed to the figure , it was a young man, his higher half naked, John couldn't see the other half since it laid under the water.
He cannot believe it, what a man doing here? No one ever comes to this part of the island , could he be a victim of the tsunami that the streams took here?
More importantly , is he alive?
John crouched , the man's faced the ground , his long brown locks covering most of his face, John touched his neck, there was pulse but it was faint , the man was cold, John needed to hurry and carry him to his cabin before it would be too late.
He grabbed the man's arms and dragged him out of the water only to drop him with a gasp.
The lower part of the man was nothing he ever saw before , a long fish tale covered colorful scales, running from green to purple .
John gaped in awe at the sight infront of him, he couldn't leave the creature to die here...
"God help me..." he mumbled
