Hi.
My name is Gabriela Gonzalez I’m a librarian in a small town of Becket and this is my story. It was a regular day for Gabriela. She woke up got into the shower dressed in her black pencil skirt, white button up blouse, black suit jacket and slipped on her nude flats. She was never the kind to wear heels. Her grandmother had warned her about those death traps.
She quickly walked to the kitchen of her small apartment and made herself coffee, needing the caffeine for the long boring day to come. She ate one of the blueberry muffins that she had made for the library.
After eating and brushing her teeth afterwards she went to do her makeup. She added concealer, blusher, light brown eye shadow, mascara and light pink lipstick. It was a natural look and she loved it. This is probably why she never wore any other looks. She was never the kind to boldly add purple or green or any other colour for that matter. It was always the same and it would stay that way for as long as she felt comfortable with it.
She brushed her long dark hair and pulled it into a bun on top of her head. This was usually the time she would stare at herself in the mirror and laugh at her totally cliché look. The librarian with the bun and massive glasses framing her face, at least she didn’t scowl. She never perfected the mean look having a permanent smile on her face while reading one of the many romance books the library had to offer ensured her ability to only smile.
Looking at the clock hanging on the wall above her mirror she grabbed her handbag putting the strap over her shoulder she unplugged her phone from her nightstand and put it in its compartment in her bag, for everything had its place. On the way out the door she took the box muffins with her, balancing them on her one hand while trying to lock up with the other. She got into her small silver car and started the drive to work. The library.
Like any other day Gabriela entered her place of work with a fresh batch of blueberry muffins. She checked in with her card at the scanner. She placed her handbag under her desk, the blueberry muffins behind her next to the coffee machine and logged onto her account on the system. She sat down on her chair and grabbed the book next to her computer. She still had three chapters to read.
Only one page into the book and the bell above the door dinged. Someone was here. She knew that and she also knew exactly who it was. Debora a teenage girl from the local school. It was a Saturday and Debora usually came in early to read a new teen fiction book. Gabriela stood up from her chair and switched on the coffee machine behind her. “Hello Miss Gonzalez. What do you have for me today?” The chirpy teen asked her. Gabriela turned around faking a frown. “What did I tell you? My mother was Miss Gonzalez. I’m Gabriela.” “Sorry.” Gabriela sighed. “You’re forgiven, but only if you tell me that you love my baked goods again.” Debbie grabbed a muffin, biting in to it she let out a groan of pleasure. “These are delicious. You have to give me the recipe Miss uh... Gabriela.” Gabriela smiled she handed Debbie her coffee, three sugars and lots of milk. “I have the perfect book for you. It came in three days ago. Something about a bad boy and a nerd, cute book, Madison read it. She said you’d love it.” Waking to the teen section Gabriela took the book off the shelf and handed it to Debora. Debbie smiled. She took the book and placed it on her usual table in the corner of the library, along with her cup of coffee and bitten muffin.
Gabriela walked back over to her seat knowing that the book would keep Debora busy and started reading the rest of her story. It was about a Mafia leader who fell in love with his best friend. She was captured by his enemy and he was about to risk his life to go save her.Gabriela had only gotten past the next sentence when the bell chimed again. Tyler, she thought. Tyler was a nerdy boy he was fourteen and read all and any comic books. She turned around and made his coffee, four sugars but no milk. Tyler loved sugar a lot but never drank milk since he was lactose intolerant. “Hi. Miss G. How are you today?” “I’m great Tyler. How are you?” She turned around and gave him his cup and a muffin. “I’m good. Thanks.” She smiled at him. “I’ve got something for you.” She beckoned him over to his favourite section of the library. “It came in yesterday. Marvel series, your favourite.” She handed him the book and walked away. “Thanks Miss G.” He called while walking over to his seat in the opposite corner of Debora.
Gabriella was only at the part where the mafia leader walked into the building to save "his girl" when the door chimed for the third time that day. This time she had no idea who was at the door. She didn’t expect any one for at least two more hours. She looked up, waiting for the person to walk up to her desk. A newbie, she thought. Well this should be interesting. Oh My God! The first thought she had when she saw him. Jacob Grayson. At that moment she had no idea who this Greek god really was but she knew that he was handsome. That was what her first thought was about. Standing a bit more than six foot tall, very muscular, chocolate brown hair and smoldering chocolate brown eyes Jacob was handsome all right. Probably one of the most handsome men she had ever had the pleasure to meet, although in reality it was all but a pleasure to meet the Most Notorious Gang Leader in the world, if only she had known that.
