The librarian

Morning

When Gabriela woke up the next morning she was so energised to meet Jacob that she got ready in a rush. She ran in and out of the shower, pulled on underwear, a nude pencil skirt, a white button up shirt and a nude suit jacket.  She gulped down her coffee and grabbed her white flats. She was in such a rush to get to work that she didn’t even do her makeup she just brushed her teeth and pulled a brush through her naturally straight hair. After grabbing her keys and the box of muffins she quickly locked her home and went to work.

Gabriela was early. She unlocked the library and put the box of muffins behind her at the coffee table. She logged into her account on the system and sat there waiting for him to show up.  She sat for what seemed like hours but was mere minutes until she decided to do something productive to get time to move faster. She ordered new books on the computer and went to the back room to get the books that were delivered yesterday. While packing them on the shelves she heard the bell ring, signalling someone had entered. She had high hopes of it being him when she looked at the watch on the wall. It was about time for Debora to arrive but still Gabriela hoped. When Debbie walked up to her Gabriela was disappointed. It clearly showed on her face when Debbie questioned her. “Are you alright Miss Gabriela?”
“Yes I’m fine Debbie I was just expecting someone else.” Gabriela replied. Debora was confused. She was usually the only person to show up this early at the library. “And who might that be Miss Gabriela? I know for a fact that I’m the only one to show up at this time of day.” “It’s just this guy that came in yesterday. His name is Jacob. He was really nice and he said that he would see me again today.” Came her reply. “Oh does someone have a crush?” Debora said dragging out the oh. “Maybe.” Gabriela’s was bushing so much that her face could have been mistaken for a tomato.  “Well I’m happy for you Miss. You deserve someone who makes you happy.” “Thank you Debora.” And that was the end of the discussion. Debora went to her corner, grabbing her book and a muffin on the way while Gabriela continued packing away the new books.

After Gabriela finished packing them she went to the coffee table behind her desk and prepared two cups, taking one to Debbie. She returned to her table and continued reading His girl. She only got past a paragraph when the bell chimed for the second time that day. She was nervous yet again. Jacob strode into the library as if he owned the place and walked right up to Gabriela. “Good morning gorgeous.” His flirtation got Gabriela to blush and look down. Jacob lifted her head up to look at him with his thumb and pointer finger. She looked up into those beautiful brown orbs and melted into him. Jacob of course was overjoyed at her reaction to him. He gave her his heart warming smile.

When Gabriela realised that she hadn’t said anything she quickly tried to cover it up by opening her mouth and saying “Bonjour... Buenos días... Guten Morgen... Buongiorno.” Realising that she wasn’t going to stop soon Jacob stopped her by kissing her. She was so shocked by the sudden kiss that her senses returned after he pulled away. “Morning.” She sighed, at least this time she got it right. Jacob smiled at her. “How are you beautiful?” Jacob asked her with a sweet voice. She smiled through her reply. “I’m great, good, awesome, you?” Jacob chuckled at her nervousness. “I’m doing amazing. Now that I get to see you.” Gabriela blushed.

She got up from her seat and started making their coffee. Jacob stared at her she was perfect. As she placed their cups down she again turned around and walked back to get two muffins. This time when turning around Gabriela caught Jacob staring at her. “See anything you like?” She boldly asked him. He groaned as she walked over to him swaying her hips. “Yes.” He looked deep into her eyes and pulled her into him by her waist. He glanced down at her lips while biting his bottom lip. His eyes flickered up to hers as if asking for permission while he slowly leaned in, capturing her lips with his. Fireworks erupted in Gabriela’s mind while her whole body turned to mush. Jacob loved the taste of her lips, sweet mint with a hint of watermelon. Somehow her arms ended up wrapped around his neck and  his around her waist. Just as the kiss was about to become heated they started to pull away. She moaned as he pulled her bottom lip in between his teeth while pulling away. He smiled, “I’ve wanted to do that since I arrived.”

They both sat down and ate and drank in peaceful silence. Jacob was the one to finally break it. “I need to go to work. I’ll see you tonight at seven for our date. Have a nice day baby girl.” “You too handsome.” He gave her a gentle goodbye kiss and left.
