Frank hadn't been back once, he was slightly wary of the Way house and his last meeting with Mikey wasn't exactly pleasant. That honestly broke Frank's heart a little, the boy he'd liked for so long just turns out to be a bit of a dickhead? Yeah he's not too happy about that.
He'd had that feeling again, like someone was constantly breathing down his neck but whenever he looked there was nothing. It was starting to get to him, as he was walking to school it was almost as if he could feel the burning stare of who or what was watching his every move.
The school day was rather uneventful, Frank didn't really have the heart to face Mikey so he stayed hidden away in the music room, lazily strumming his guitar. It was terrifying really, that feeling usually went once he'd arrived at school but today it was still present.
The bell rang and Frank made his way to the school halls, ready to leave and go to the safety of his home. Opening his locker, he took out the few things he needed, when he noticed the note taped to the inside.
'You're so pretty when you play.'
It wasn't much but Frank thought he was going to throw up, so someone had been watching him. He felt the tears in his eyes, needing comfort immediately. For some reason the fear only made his mind slip back to that place, he no longer felt seventeen. It was like his brain had been partially switched off and reduced back to what it was when he was younger. The only person that seemed to understand was Gerard, he took care of him last time and he craved to feel it again.
Sniffling and slamming his locker shut, he ran out of the school all the way to Gerard's house. The feeling wasn't there but he was terrified of it returning. His calves ached and his breath was coming out in short pants once he reached the Way residence. He knocked on the door, wiping at his eyes with the sleeves of his hoodie that were pulled around his hands.
"Babyboy?" Frank's head shot up and he wrapped his arms around Gerard's waist immediately, Gerard stumbling back slightly.
"Hey. Hey, baby, what's wrong?" Gerard slowly wrapped his arms around Frank, rubbing up and down his back.
"S-scared." Frank whimpered into Gerard's chest, clutching helplessly at the back of his jacket.
"C'mon, oh, honey." Gerard muttered as he picked Frank up, with the latter wrapping his legs around Gerard's waist as tears dropped onto the elders neck. He carried Frank back to his bedroom in the basement, trying to set the small boy down on the bed but he just clung on to Gerard. He smiled widely before opting to just sit on the bed with Frank in his lap.
Once Frank's tears had reduced down to the occasional sniffle, he pulled his head back slightly to look at Gerard. He smiled sadly at the poor boy in his lap and brushed the hair that was matted to his cheek backwards and behind his ear. He pressed delicate kisses to Frank's cheeks, making him blush slightly.
"Now, are you going to tell me what happened?" Gerard asked carefully with an eyebrow raised inquisitively.
"I-it feels like.. like someone's w-watching me all the t-time and it's scary, Gee." Frank said in a shaky voice, still slightly paranoid. "Th-then I got a n-note, so someone has been watching m-me."
Gerard rubbed up and down Frank's back soothingly as he listened to what he said, the little nickname made his heart beat erratically.
"I love your company, little boy, but why did you come here?" Gerard asked, not mentioning what Frank said at all, keeping a firm hold on his hips so that he didn't mistake that question as Gerard not wanting him there, it was quite the opposite actually.
"I-I got that feeling again. I just felt," Frank paused for a moment, thinking of the right word. "Little."
Gerard smiled widely, leaning down and kissing Frank's forehead gently. He rubbed his thumb over his cheek, staring into his eyes for a few moments before speaking again.
"Do you want me to feed you again? Want to play with toys and dress up?" Gerard asked eagerly.
"Y-yes please." Frank smiled timidly with pink dusting his cheeks. Gerard nodded, kissing Frank's cheek before moving him off his lap to go upstairs.
He returned quickly, the same bottle filled with warm milk in his hand. He cradled Frank in his lap the same way as before, carding his fingers through his hair as he tilted the bottle up so the milk could flow through easily. Frank drank it all eagerly, falling asleep once he was almost finished. Gerard smiled down at the sweet boy in his lap, he was so fucking happy that he came to him needing to be looked after.
Gerard stared at Frank the entire time he slept, not wanting anything to do so much as touch the smaller boy. After an hour or so Frank slowly began to stir, rubbing his eyes with the ends of his sleeves that folded over his hands. Gerard internally cooed over how adorable his little boy was when he woke up, before kissing his hair gently.
"Hey, Prince, I have something for you." Gerard said softly.
"W-what is it?" Frank had a light blush on his cheeks from the cute pet name.
Gerard smiled and reached down under his bed, pulling out a little grey and white stuffed animal. Frank gasped and made grabby hands for the puppy with Gerard chuckling and handing him the toy. Frank hugged it to his chest tightly, kissing the puppy's nose before turning to Gerard again.
"Thank you!" Frank exclaimed, hugging Gerard quickly before returning to the puppy. "I'm gonna name her SweetPea." Frank smiled.
"That's a beautiful name, baby." Gerard smiled as he ran his fingers lovingly through Frank's hair. Frank gave Gerard an adorable smile in return and held the little dog up to his face. "It's an honour to meet you, SweetPea, you better take good care of my Frankie. Okay?"
Frank giggled and made SweetPea nod with his hand. Gerard smiled at the boy before kissing his cheek once again because he just couldn't help it.
The vibration of Frank's phone could be felt by the both of them when he got a text from his mother, reaching into his pocket to read it.
'Come home please, Frank.'
He pouted and turned the phone round to Gerard so that he could read it, with him nodding sadly with a small frown on his face.
"You want me to walk you home, babyboy?"
"No it's okay, Gee. I'll see you soon." Frank smiled sadly before getting up, eyeing SweetPea curiously.
"She's yours, you can keep her, sweetheart." Gerard chuckled and Frank squealed, grabbing the puppy and kissing Gerard on the cheek before blushing madly and leaving the house.
That heavy feeling wasn't weighing down on him as he walked home, he felt happy with the little bundle of fluff in his arms and his mind still seemed to be in that clouded place it was before.
"Hey, honey." Frank's mom, Linda, smiled at him when he walked through the door. He giggled and waved at her, walking up to his room without saying a word. His mother sat in the living room staring after her son in confusion. Why was he so giggly and where the fuck did he get a stuffed puppy? She didn't know, but at least he was happy. She shrugged to herself and shook her head slightly, turning back to her book without giving it any further thought.
