Waking up on Tuesday morning was difficult for Frank after having the day off on Monday, once Gerard had left he watched perhaps too many movies and binge watched a new show he found on netflix, but that ultimately made waking up much harder as his sleep deprived eyes cracked open to face the sun creeping through the curtains.

Getting ready was the same as always, a pair of black jeans that clung to his legs in the best way and a light blue sweater that hung just below his hips and was too long for his arms so the sleeves hung over his hands slightly.

Walking to school was also more uneventful that it had been recently, he didn't feel as though he was being watched and the fact that he'd left earlier than normal meant that the streets were desolate so he just listened to the peaceful quiet and occasional rustle of birds in the trees.

Once Frank entered the school he saw his friends standing around in the hall leaning against the lockers. He approached them and tapped Brendon on his shoulder so he could get to his locker and pick up his bag that he had left behind previously.

"Oh! Hey, dude." Brendon smiled at him as he stepped aside.

"Hi, guys." Frank smiled back and twisted the code into his locker, taking out his bag and swinging it over one shoulder. Mikey cleared his throat and jerked his head to the left, making sure Frank saw before walking away and around the corner. "I'll-uh.. I'll see you in class."

He squeezed past Brendon again and followed Mikey around the corner, seeing him leaning against a wall with one leg crossed over the other, hands tucked in his pockets.

"A-are you okay?" Frank asked as he played with the ends of his sweater that hung over his hands, twisting them around his fingers and picking at any loose threads.

"Yeah, fine." Mikey looked up at Frank and half smiled at him. "I was just kinda wondering if maybe you'd want to go to dinner with me sometime." He sighed momentarily before adding, "Like a date."

Frank stood there with his eyes wide and mouth slightly agape, his hands were still and a light blush covering his cheeks. If this had been a few weeks ago his answer would be instant, he wouldn't even have to think about it but now someone else plagued his mind and never seemed to leave. Now whenever he looked at Mikey his pushed back blonde locks didn't seem to have the same effect as they had before, the sharp cut of his jawline didn't make Frank's knees weak and most of all the sound of his voice no longer gave him butterflies.

"I-uh," Frank looked apologetically at him and he could see that Mikey already knew where this was going. "N-no, sorry."

"It's.. it's okay, I guess." He shrugged and rubbed the back of his neck. "Still friends though, yeah?"

"Of course." Frank smiled at him as the bell rang, with Mikey smiling and waving halfheartedly before walking away to his class.

Throughout the rest of the day Frank was thinking about the realisation that he may have a crush on a certain black haired basement dweller, only the shrill ringing of the school bell could pull him out of his head.

At lunch he headed to the usual table they sat at, all his friends spread around the benches with a small space left between Ryan and Brendon for Frank to slip into.

"Hey, Frankie." Ryan flashed a smile before he went back to the book he had sat on the table in front of him, dragging his finger down the page until he found his place again.

"Hey, Ry." He sat down with a dopey smile on his face which the rest of them obviously picked up on.

"What's got you smiling?" Ray asked teasingly, watching as Frank quickly got flustered.

"I'm not smiling." Frank said with burning cheeks as Ray raised an eyebrow. "I'm not!"

"Sure, buddy." He said sarcastically. "Just tell us, is it a fella?"

"No," Frank replied, dragging out the word just to exaggerate his point. "Just happy, i guess."

"Fair enough." Ray shrugged and smiled, starting a conversation with the others but Frank's mind was already back on Gerard.

He thought about what he could do about the situation because while he was usually clueless about crushes and other people's feelings towards him, he knew Gerard had to like him if even a little bit. Whenever he was with him he felt safe yet strangely vulnerable and the state his mind went to made him forget almost everything.

Frank eventually decided that the next time he saw Gerard he'd try to make a move on him even though he knew that he'd most likely get too scared to even talk to him. He thought about the cute stuffed animal sitting on his bed that Gerard had given him and the pacifier tucked away in his drawer, that has to mean he likes him. That's what Frank told himself and he just prayed that he was right because if he wasn't it would be soul destroying.

So, as the rest of the table watched in amusement as he nodded to himself with a little smile on his lips, he made his plans.
