Final Goodbyes

They looked around the room. The bodies of the guards were strewn about, weapons lain abandoned. Snoke's lower half still remained sitting on his throne. His severed torso and hands were toppled on the floor. Pieces of burnt curtain smoldered lightly on the ground as Kylo and Rey looked out the windows at the galaxy around them.

"What do we do now?" She whispered to him.

"We need to get away from here." He said to her. He turned and strode towards the elevator. Rey hurried after him.

"And then what? What happens when they find out you killed Snoke?"

"We need to get to Hux. He will assume power if we don't get to him before he finds out."

"Great. Just great." Rey said. Hux was the last person she wanted to see right now.

"Hux has probably already left to attack the Resistance." Kylo said as the elevator descended back to the hanger. "If we get there quick enough we can get to him while he's distracted by the battle."

A silence fell between them as the elevator rumbled downwards.

"Kylo?" Rey asked.

"Ben." Kylo responded. Rey furrowed her brows in confusion at him.

"I.... I think it's all right if you call me Ben from now on." He shook his head. "With the Supr- with Snoke dead... I don't have to hide anymore. He no longer controls me. Or you."

A tear fell from Rey's eye.

"Oh Ben!" She cried, throwing herself at him again and holding him close. He wrapped his arms around her and leaned his cheek against the top of her head. He could feel his body swell with emotion. One he couldn't describe in any other word but 'free'.

The elevator came to a halt and the doors opened. The hanger was almost nearly empty. His assumptions were correct. Hux had already departed with the fleet. The command shuttle was still parked where he had left it earlier.

"There you are!" Shouted a voice from behind him. Rey looked behind her in a panic.

"Phasma! What happened to your armor?" Rey asked the approaching figure.

"Nevermind that." She said as she turned to Ben.

"Hux has already left with most of the fleet for the attack on D'Qar. He left me in charge of the Supremacy. What did the Supreme Leader have to say?"

Ben glanced at Rey and she glanced back.

"Phasma..." Ben said calmly. "Snoke is dead."

Phasma stood there and said nothing. Finally she uttered a laugh.

"Hahahaha. I'm sorry. I must have misheard you. I thought you said the Supreme Leader was dead."

"He is. I killed him." Ben replied. Phasma whipped off her helmet.

"You WHAT?" She hissed at Ben, her ice blue eyes staring intently at him.

"I. Killed. Him." Ben repeated slowly.

"What would you do that for??? Do you know will happen once Hux finds out???" Phasma snapped.

"That's exactly why we need to get to him before he finds out."
