The explosion sent shards of glass and metal hurtling into the cold air of space. The TIE fighters responsible for the attack circled back around towards the Finalizer.

Ben swallowed down the lump in his throat. Rey was still blissfully unaware of who had been on the bridge of the ship, but that didn't stop her from sensing those still alive on board. Their panic, their sorrow, their fear.

Ben yanked on the controls and followed the TIE fighters, entering the hanger behind them just as the doors began to close them. He hastily landed the shuttle and went to unbuckle himself. He hissed as he went to stand, clutching at his side.

"You need to get that wound sealed." Rey told him.

"There's not enough time for that." Ben said, gingerly touching the damp spot on his jacket, gritting his teeth in pain.

"But you're hurt..." Rey said.

"I'll be fine." He grumbled. He grabbed his saber hilt off his belt and stormed down the ramp.

He knew exactly where to find Hux. The problem was getting Hux alone so that he could put an end to all this once and for all.

For too long Hux had wanted power. He already greatly misused the power he had. The power Snoke had bestowed upon him. With Snoke gone, Ben was determined to right his wrongs. There would be no Resistance. There would be no First Order. No Jedi. No Sith. No war. Just balance. He would bring balance to the galaxy, following in his grandfathers steps. Anakin Skywalker. Destined to bring balance. He would finish what his grandfather had started.

ooooo

Hux stared smugly out the window of the command bridge at the destruction he had caused. The Resistance base had been destroyed. The head ship had taken considerable damage. Not only was their fleet of starships destroyed, so was their command bridge.

He chuckled softly to himself, imagining all the Admirals and Generals rallying on the command bridge being sucked out into the galaxy. Granted they hadn't burned to death in the explosion first. Now all he had to do was take down the remaining ships. The smirk was wiped from his face as frustration set in.

"What is the point of all this- " Hux asked Captain Peavey, gesturing to the grand command bridge of the Finalizer. "- if we can't blow up three tiny cruisers???"

"They are faster and lighter, sir." Peavey replied. "They can't lose us but they can keep in a range where our canons are ineffective against their shields."

'No matter.' Hux thought. He knew after their lightspeed jump, a cruiser that size would be dangerously low on fuel by now. They would trail behind them, a shadow of death, waiting for the Resistance to fall into their grasp.

Hux brushed off imaginary dust off his shoulder and jauntily straightened his jacket.

"Well." Hux said to Peavey. "Keep up the mirage. Let's at least remind them that we're still here."

"Very good sir." Peavey replied.

"They won't last long burning fuel like this." He smiled evilly. "It's just a matter of time." He adjusted his hat.

"Summon the Supremacy. I'm off to make a report to Supreme Leader Snoke." He told Peavey. "Alert me if they try anything."

"As you wish, sir." Peavey said to him with a nod. Hux smugly strode off the command bridge, feeling confident that the Supreme Leader would praise him.
