Kylie's POV

"Yeah, I'm just out with one of my old friends." His voice comes through the speaker.

"Okay. I hope you're having fun. I just wanted to let you know that Kirstie and I are going to hang out for a bit." I tell him. I know I don't have to but I like letting him know things. I love that we're both open and honest with each other.

"Okay. Well I think I'm going to hang out with the lads tonight. A nice night in. Probably pizza and drinks." He says.

"Okay. Well I'll see you when you get home. I love you." I can't help but smile.

"I love you too, darling. I'll see you tonight." He ends the call and I begin to get ready.

I take a shower and clean up brads room. Once all of the clothes from the floor are put away or in the laundry I lay on the bed and begin to read to pass time before Kirstie gets here.

- -

I hear a knock at the door and rush down the stairs.

"Hello." Kirstie says from the porch as she walks into the house.

"No James?" I ask.

"He had plans today with his family." She replies. I slip on my shoes and grab my purse. He has a busy day if he's going to be with his family and then go hang out with brad and the boys later. I'd be exhausted if I were him.

"Anne, I'm leaving with Kirstie. Brad will probably be home late but I shouldn't be too late." I say into the kitchen.

"Okay dear. See you then!" Anne says back.

"What's brad doing today?" Kirstie asks as we walk out to her car.

"He's with an old friend. Then he's going out with the boys tonight." I duck into her car and we begin backing out of the driveway.

"That's odd. He didn't invite James that I know of. Maybe it's his other group of friends." She says.

"Maybe. He didn't really clarify who. Either way, I hope he has a good time." I smile and she smiles back.

We listen to the music playing off Kirstie's phone through the speaker until we get to the restaurant. We pull into a small diner and stop the car.

"This is one of my favorite places. I come here with my dad. It's so good." She says. We get out of the car and walk into the diner.

"Booth or table, ladies?" The waitress asks us.

"Booth, please." Kirstie smiles at her. She sits us at a small booth in front of a large window. Kirstie orders a salad. As appetizing as that sounds, all that I want right now are fries.

Our food comes in and we both enjoy it with some small talk in between. Kirstie are her last bite of salad and we waited for the check.

"Thank you so much for getting lunch with me." I say to her.

"Oh my gosh, it's no problem. I like hanging out with you. You're one of the only girls that understands how crazy it is to be with the boys." She laughs and takes a drink of water. I don't think it's too crazy though. Yes the boys have fans and live crazy lives, but it's manageable.

"I guess I like crazy." We both laugh and grab our bills as they come.

On our walk out to the car, Kirstie asked me if I'd like to join her at a parter at her friends house.

"Yeah, we won't stay long. People are there now. They asked if we'd like to stop by." She says.

"Sure. Sounds fun." I don't really like parties but I'd feel bad if I didn't go with her. She is trying really hard to be my friend and I feel like going to a party with her would show her that I appreciate it.
