F E L I C I T Y spent the rest of her break working on homework, helping out at the local soup kitchen with May, or fighting crime, attempting to distract her mind about her unrequited feelings and Tony's excessive protection. She was in dire need of a long, relaxing vacation.

She finished her school projects and assignments way ahead of time, about two to three weeks before they're due. She even finished her required online classes too. She was bored if she was going to be honest. She would have gone to Tony's to chill, but she wasn't ready to face him again.
Not after last time.

Besides, she hadn't seen her group of friends since Friday. They were all busy with their families and travels. Peter spent his week sulking in his bedroom about his recent break up. Gwen was out of town, having a delayed Thanksgiving dinner with family down in Virginia. Ned was helping his grandmother move things to their new home. Harry was completely off the radar, taking a couple of extra days off of school to visit a country named Slovenia in Europe, judging from his latest BeReal.

She was utterly bored. She sat on a roof top near Times Square in her Nightingale suit, far from her own home. Sitting on the edge, she watched the streets, alert for anything. Crime never stopped, it was fluid. There was always crime all over the city, but she tried sticking with the area she chose, otherwise she'd be flying like crazy back and forth. It was similar to a beat.

She sat there for a few more hours. It was around nine in the evening. Nothing occurred. She was starving and bored, but her phone buzzed. Harry texted their group chat.

9:13 PM

Harry: guess what!!
Felicity: whaaaaaat
Harry: I'm coming home in four days!
Harry: u guys up to do anything once I get back
Harry: day trip to Coney Island?? 👀
Gwen: omg we have school
Harry: so
Peter: dude the quarter ends soon 💀
Fel: ^^ I need to study for my ap world exam
Ned: I can't fail anything else or my gpa is toast lol 🪦
Harry: lameeee

She tucked her phone back into a compartment in her suit, annoyed with how anticlimactic her evening had been.

She moved to different part of the city, closer to the former Stark Towers, once again sitting on the ledge of a building. She sighed to herself as she waited to be alerted of something, but part of her enjoyed the view and the peace she found from being alone.

She wondered how much fun everyone else was having.

If she had been with Peter for the past week, she'd be watching a movie in his room. Or they'd be playing some stupid trivia game or a co-op game on his desktop. But in reality, they'd probably be on their phones looking at the stupidest memes together while lying next to each other on his twin bed.
