Chapter 14: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

It has been only about 4 weeks since Minato, Neptune, Nepgear, and IF picked up and started investigating about the forbidden land.

Of course the library in Lowee sounds like a nice time to be around, if it wasn't for the cold.

The messiah sneezed as he wraps his own arms around him before switching to Loki, who can essentially keep him warm against the cold. Or make him used to it, whatever you want to say.

"Come on." IF called out. "The sooner we can get out of this, the better." She said with a shiver as she goes inside.

With the rest of them retorting their agreements, they merely walk inside the library....

But how long will they stay safe from the horrors awaiting them?

"Uhm, guys.... I think I'm feeling dizzy...." Neptune called out to the group.

IF looks at her questioningly. It's always this moment shows that Neptune has something to say that ends up breaking the atmosphere in the current event.

"what's the problem, Nep?"

"I dunno Iffy.... The moment I started thinking about this "Chrome"- dude, I feel a little dizzy..." She whines as she lightly stumbles a bit.

The friends started becoming worried, even going as far as to stand close in case of anything.

But in Neptune's eyes, she cannot deny what she's seeing.

The room's lights dimmed to a sickly, murky green, her vision wavering like a nauseating hallucination as she feels herself losing balance.

Then it happened... From out of the shelves, a monster bursts through, and such a sight made her want to scream from it's ugly appearance. Looking more like a large, floating mass that writhes in agony as eyes scour on and through the group and at her.

She wanted to scream and warn her friends, but it's too late as she passes out, and her vision waning to darkness.

It's only been a couple of moments since that happened, but nothing of huge concern as Compa is there, tending to the goddess.

The search continues on until another event.

"Guys! Over here! I found something!" Nepgear yelled out, even going as far as to raise her arms up high before being shushed by the readers.

They were amazed to find their discovery! A large tome sitting on a table, all set and ready to be used.

But they stared at it like a Mimic. Fearing that it will grow arms and legs as it tries to kill them all.

"So...." IF began. "Who's gonna open it..?"

Everyone starts looking at each other... Judging and looking between them.

"I'll pass!" God-Eater said, keeping her arms down.

"Not interested." S-sha blurted out.

It was this point, Minato closed his eyes and sighed, and just opened the damn book to see what it has to hold.

The rewards of it is quite glad and amazing. For it shows all they need to know about this adversary.

"That's who he is..." He heard Nitroplus murmur as she decides to join him in reading.

The passages about this being is in a sense, an epic, or a legend in regards to him. A man that used to be an ordinary man, with a friend, and with people he can trust in an ordinary town.

As he read on, he discovers more things about him and his rise to godhood.

"From the time of my life with my friend, I never expected it to be in such a sense; to be a mediocre man, and to be a god amongst the men." He read as he keeps on reading.

Twice the days are with me and my friend, Zero. We went out hunting for a glorious prize to bring the boar's head and hide, and his flesh for the feast to be held at the break of night.

These were the days back then. Back when one nation rised up high, a nation that reigned supreme and unchallenged, Tari! Was the name of the nation.

Oh, my dear niece. Life was like this before, and even your mother can agree! Living underneath the shadow of something so great, something that you wish to stand on equal ground or to triumph over it.

But the path of my godhood all began back on that day. That fateful day. When we got ambushed by their soldiers.

6 of them surrounded us and told us to drop our arms, almost as if they saw us as scouts that were planning an uprising. But no matter how many times we tried to negotiate, one of them threatened to kill me and my friend.

I could not allow it, and something deep inside came out to me. And before I knew it, they cowered in fear from the face of a God!

After that, we came home with 2 gifts! The first one was the Equilan Boar, and a God.

Such a sight is rare at that time.

But by then. Everything has begun to change, but it's a change that is good. The town that I lived in, became a nation that rivaled Tari! NO longer was it a town that relied on trade, and the very people that lived in it are the very ones that lay their lives to protect it.

I made it grow to a city! Then I made it bigger until it is a nation! The economy improved and the utopia that people wished for finally became a reality!

The entire room was silent, no one dared to say anything as they real in that information.

"One nation to rival Tari..." The Wind Waker said as she scours the page once more. "This! This is something that change history!"

Minato can only squint his eyes as he thinks to himself... If there was another nation that rivaled Tari. Then how powerful are the two nations?

Thoughts end up reeling to his mind, drawing back from the people he met before. They called him "Zero", but why did they call him that? Or compared to for that matter.

Then it rang to his head like a wrecking ball! If there's any thing he knows, that man was his counterpart.
Another version of him, in another time, and in another place.

"What is Tari?" He asked them.

Just hearing a sigh of disappointment only made a quirk an eyebrow at S-sha.

"Tari was one of the most powerful nations back then." She began. "It was the nation that stood high while the nations you know now are still flourishing."

"But if that's the case..." Neptune butted in. "How come we never heard of it? And why didn't it get recorded?"

"Maybe you should have payed attention to Histoire, Nep." IF said to her as she crosses her arms.

"But she didn't told me! And I'm pretty sure she hasn't had a clue on it!" The CPU retorted as she pouts.

As they continue to ponder on what this could all mean, Nitro and God-eater continued on reading the book, only to stumble to an illustration that shows some sort of.... Unholy prophecy.

They stare at the drawing, reeling in from the depiction of a sky tainted with purple mists, four beings residing on it. One had a bald head with a broad jawline, one's head was covered in a turban with four horns poking out, one with 6 tufts on their head, adorned with red eyes, a white face, and a grin so wide that even Cheshire Cat won't be able to make. And the one last figure is a witch that stands to the left.

"Wait a minute. Is this us?" Nepgear pointed to one of the figures.

When they look at it, it's undeniable on what they see.

It truly is the 4 Goddesses, but something is wrong in it. When they look closer, they can see what it is, one of them was colored blue, the other bathed in orange, one is in iris, and the last was clothed in blue.

They all looked at each other in unison, almost as if they're agreeing on something.

But no matter how much they wanted to not believe it, it's true...

They are looking at the "Disastrous End."
