"So, uh, Marinette. What are we going to do? How am I going to explain you to Natalie?" Adrien asked, still panicking even after Marinette's explanation.

Marinette smiled at him and then tapped his nose playfully. "I'm still invisible, silly. Well, not to you of course, but to everyone else. After you forgot about me I couldn't even see myself in a mirror. Now I can."

Adrien felt bad about not believing that Marinette had existed. He couldn't remember the exact day when he had decided that she was a figment of his imagination, but he knew it must have been hard for her. When she talked about it Mari didn't imply any bitterness, but he still felt quite guilty.

"Marinette..." He sighed before continuing cautiously. "I'm really sorry. You've been dying for ten years just because of me!"

Mari shook her head slowly, her smile faltering. "It's not your fault. You didn't know that this would happen to me. You didn't even think that I was real so how were you supposed to know that your decision hurt me?"

Adrien didn't feel any better about the whole ordeal but he still managed a weak smile.

He was still having a hard time wrapping his mind around this concept of I.F.s and all that they do. If I.Fs existed what else happened without humans knowing?

It was actually a scary thought.

Adrien gathered up the courage and then asked the question that scared him the most. "...Is there anything else that humans aren't aware of that could potentially be harmful to us?"

Marinette froze and seemed to think hard before answering.

"Well..." She said, tilting her head slightly in a thoughtful position. "Um, of the creatures that I know of there are a few. Humans aren't supposed to know about them though so don't tell anyone that I told you. ...Not that there is anyone for you to tell!"

Adrien's blood ran cold. There were hostile creatures living among humans?!

"What a-are they?" Adrien whispered, practically trembling. Marinette noticed that he was scared and awkwardly patted his arm, trying to comfort him.

"Well now, humanity's survived this long with them so there's no real big threat. Children can see them but they, of course, loose that ability when they loose their I.F."

Adrien straitened, coming to a realization. "Does that mean that I can see them now?!"

Marinette nodded. "It's more of a curse than a gift. I mean, have you ever heard of the phrase 'Mommy there's something in my closet'? Unfortunately, there actually is something in there most of the time."

"What sort of creatures are there?" Adrien asked, quite far from feeling peaceful at the moment.

Marinette sighed and then launched into her explanation. "One of my least favorite creatures are Lilae. They possess small children, in a way, and encourage them to lie compulsively. They can also inhabit older folk but they prefer children. They can also harm humans by taking over their minds and infusing suicidal thoughts in them."

Adrien shivered at the last part. Causing someone to have suicidal thoughts was quite the weapon. Lilae could just watch lazily as someone killed themselves for them. They wouldn't even have to get their hands dirty.

"What do they look like?"

Marinette shivered, then answered Adrien with a slight tremor in her voice. "Normally they're these huge spirit-like monsters, but, they can transform into a human looking creature so they can pass off as a human and harm people that way."

"They turn into teenage girls for some reason and torment people. They're also not very creative with fake names so normally they name themselves Lila when trying to pass as a human."

Adrien sank into his thoughts, a bit stunned. His world had just changed dramatically in the span of an early morning.

Marinette, sending his dismay, took his hand and pulled him off of his bed. "Would you like to meet someone who can also see creatures like me? He was born with the ability so he might have so tips for you."

Adrien nodded enthusiastically. He moved to walk out of his bedroom but Mari pulled him back and pointed at his chest while laughing.

Adrien glanced down and blushed furiously. He was still wearing his kitten themed pjs. He quickly grabbed clothes and hopped into the bathroom to change. He could have sworn he heard Marinette laughing to herself while he pulled his shirt on.

Walking out of the bathroom, Adrien confidently winked at Mari as he pulled his white jacket on overtop of his black shirt with multicolored stripes running across his chest.

Mari blushed quietly before leading him out of his room and outside. Adrien ducked behind random objects to avoid his father. They successfully made it outside and down the road without anyone spotting Adrien. Mari easily hid considering she was invisible to most.

After walking for what seemed like forever to Adrien's poor otaku legs Mari knocked on the door to a mysterious house.

A boy opened the door and stared at Adrien before greeting Mari. He wore a blue shirt that contrasted with his dark skin and his red hat sat on his head haphazardly.

"Hey Marinette. Who's this dude?" He asked, glancing at Adrien warily.

Mari turned to Adrien happily. "Adrien, this is Nino. Nino, Adrien."
