Leaving Already???

For some reason, I couldn't get my brain to work today. I kept on thinking about my meeting with Yuzu yesterday. I just have this feeling that I'm gonna meet him again very soon. After a long day of lecture, I decided to go to the park near campus to refresh my mind and get some ideas for an essay that we're told to do.

While I was starting to write, suddenly I felt a light tap on my shoulder that was followed by a familiar, soft Japanese voice

"Hey, what are you writing?" someone with a familiar Japanese accent asked

When I turned around, I couldn't believe my eyes, it was Yuzuru. What is he doing here? And how did my gut know that I would meet him very soon???

"Hey, it's you. I'm currently writing an essay about our current condition. Like about the war and stuff. What about you? What are you doing here?" I ask while closing my book

"Oh nothing, just walking around but then I see you sitting here all by yourself so I decided to go up and say hi" Yuzu said while sitting next to me

"Hey Yuzu, how old are you? Are you still in university or are you currently working?" I asked while looking at him

"Oh right, I haven't told you yesterday. I'm currently 22 years old and already working. What about you? What are you studying?" Yuzu ask while looking back at me

"I'm currently 17 years old and studying human and social science at Waseda University. What about you? Where do you work?" I ask

"Umm, with the government but I can't tell you what's my position" Yuzu answered while looking somewhere else

"That's alright, I can understand. It must be nice to work with the government. Your parents must be proud" I said while patting his shoulder

"Yeah, anyways, the sun is starting to set, do you want to go somewhere and eat?" Yuzu ask while standing up

"Sure, I'd like some ramen, how about you?" I ask while standing up

"Alright then, let's go, before it gets dark" Yuzu said while extending his hand

After that, the both of us went to a ramen shop and eat ramen while getting to know each other even more. After dinner, Yuzu walked me back to my campus and ask whether I'm free the next day at the same time. I told him that I am and then he said that he'll meet me at the park that we meet before.

Ever since that day, Yuzu and I started to go out every evening. I would bring my assignments with me and do it while we have dinner. Besides starting to go out, Yuzu and I started to become really close. Like it was fate that brought us together. Sometimes, he would even pick me up after all my classes and take me to some street shops. This kept going for a good 5-6 months, until one day, when we were having dinner...

"Hey (Y/N), there's something I need to tell you" Yuzu said with a serious face

"Oh my gosh, is this it?? Is he going to ask me to be his girlfriend?" I thought

"Hello? (Y/N)?? Are you still there??" Yuzu ask while snapping his fingers in front of my face

"Huh? Oh right, sorry, you were saying??" I asked while looking like I was paying attention

"Umm, I'm going to be leaving Japan tomorrow" Yuzu said while holding my hand

"What?! Leaving?! Forever?!" I asked in shock

"No, no, not forever. Just awhile, I promise I'll be back" Yuzu said while holding my hand tighter

"Really? For how long? You promise you'll come back?" I said while starting to tear up

"Yeah, I promise. It's about my work. Once I'm done, I'll come back for you but you also have to study hard and graduate alright?" Yuzu said while cupping one of my cheeks

"Alright, I'll work hard and I'll graduate by the time you come back" I said while holding his hands

"Good, c'mon, let's get you back, it's getting late" Yuzu said while standing up and helping me up

After dinner, Yuzu walked me back to my dorm as usual but this time, he even walks me until the front door of my room

"Guess this is it for a while" I said while starting to unlock the door to my room

"Yeah, but before that..." Yuzu said while pulling me away from the door to face him and then kissed my forehead

After Yuzu pulled away, I just stood and in shock on what just happened

"Hey (Y/N), you still with me?" Yuzu said while holding my shoulders

"Yeah, sorry, I just...what just happened??" I asked while still in shock

"Hehehe, just a goodbye kiss. Don't worry, I promise you I will be back. And as a sign that to keep my promise..." Yuzu said while taking his necklace off his neck and putting it around my neck

"Isn't this your good luck charm?" I ask while holding the necklace

"Yeah, but now it's a reminder that I will come back to you. That's a promise" Yuzu said while cupping my cheeks

After that day, Yuzu really left. He didn't come and pick me up from uni like he always does but I know that he will be back, he promised that he will and the necklace that he gave me is the sign. And when he comes back, I will graduate from uni. So, until then, I will continue to study hard and graduate

Yuzu's POV

After dropping (Y/N) back to her dorm and saying our goodbyes, I went to the military base because I was called by the general. As I was entering the room, I saw that all of the soldiers were here and all of them greeted me by bowing when I passed them

"Finally, took you long enough to get here" says the General while standing up from his seat

"My apologies General, I had somewhere to be before" I said while bowing to the General

"That's alright. Now that you're here, we can finally start our operation on invading Indonesia which you will be playing a big part in. Soldiers, meet my right hand man in command, Yuzuru Hanyu. If I die during the war, Yuzuru will lead all of you. I believe that Yuzuru will lead us to victory" says the General
