Hello wonderful sunshine
That brings to me a smile
Hello beautiful flowers
Please stay for awhile
All the time in the world
To catch up on my Zzzs
And do all the things
That relax me and please
Writing stories
Dancing around
Singing some songs
To the arts I am bound
I'll paint something pretty
And somehow see friends
Despite usually only seeing them
Once summer ends
I get to relax
Sit back and be done
Little work, mostly play
Summertime can be fun
Maybe this year
I'll finish writing my book
Or give a good series
A strong second look
For soon I'll nap
And sunbath too
And bug my friends
When I have nothing to do
In August I'll be
In marching band once more
But it'll be the last time
As this is year four
I better enjoy
This last high school summer
Next year I'll be packing
Becoming a college newcomer
Hopefully I'll travel
Just a little before then
Because I love to see things
I don't want to settle yet again
Summer, oh summer
Please don't go too fast
I want so much more fun
