A Week Later
Dan's POV:
I helped Barry load the last of the boxes into the moving van, and gave him a hug. "I'm going to miss you so much man."
"I'll miss you too."
"I want you to remember what I'm about to tell you."
"Okay."
"One of my favorite Latin phrases is 'In Omnia Paratus,' which means 'ready for all things.' I hope you are ready for what's to come in this next chapter of your life. Find your new job, and rock it like the badass you are. Goodbye, Barry." I hugged him again, my chest was heavy.
"Goodbye, Dan. In Omnia Paratus."
"In Omnia Paratus." Barry waved as he drove off. I looked into the house, it looked so lonely and empty without Barry's stuff in it. An idea popped into my head, it was a long shot, but it was worth a try.
Your POV:
I was still cleaning up from Barry's farewell party, when Dan came in.
"Hello, princess!"
"Hey! You're here early!" I said as I accepted his welcoming hug.
"Y/n, wanna sit down for a minute?" At that moment, Sam started crying.
"Um, sure, just a sec." I went into the other room and grabbed my son from his crib, and his bottle from the fridge. I put it in the microwave, and tried to settle him down. "What's up?"
"So, Barry left this morning, and I looked at the house with all the empty space, and I thought that maybe you and Sam could stay with me. It doesn't have to be right away, maybe give it a week or two, but I thought that you'd like it better if you had more privacy. If you want to stay here, that's fine too but-,"
"I'll stay with you,"
"You will?"
"You better believe I will!" Dan smiled at my use of his frequent "you better believe it" statements.
"Great!"
"I have to warn you though, you may get woken up by the baby in the middle of the night..." I got the bottle of the microwave and started feeding Sam.
"Oh, that's no problem, we could even take turns on the evening shift, if you want. You deserve a break, Y/n." his hand brushed my shoulder, and I felt a rush of heat through my body.
"You are truly the best, you know that?"
"Only for you, my dear Princess."
Bf/n's POV
"Mark! Honey, we gotta go!" I said as I pulled my hair into a ponytail and put on a light jacket.
"I know, baby, I just want to look perfect!"
"You always look perfect."
"Thank you, love." My husband came down the stairs and kissed me. I took a second to see what was taking him so long. He had a nice blue dress shirt on, and a black tie that matched his hair. His hair was nice and tidy, not one out of place. He had on the brand new shoes he bought for this very special occasion. I had on a pale green dress that sort of fishtailed at the end and a little black jacket that covered my shoulders. I grabbed my small purse and slung it on my shoulder. We said goodbye to Chica, as Mark called back to Sean to say that we were leaving.
