The next day, Draco was standing on Platform 9 3/4 with his mother, Narcissa.
"Now," Narcissa told him, straightening his tie. "Please do not forget to send letters home. Have a good rest of the year. And above all, don't forget to be yourself."
The whistle on the Hogwarts Express sounded, signaling that it was time to board.
"Alright, I love you." She kissed his cheek and sent him off, but not before she turned around and called, "Don't forget to ask Harry if he would like to stay with us over the summer!"
"I won't." Draco called back, stepping onto the train.
As he passed by compartments filled with students, he noticed three passengers in particular.
One was a 17 year old girl of average build with dark skin and windblown, brown hair. Next to her was a young man of the same age who also had an average build with light skin and freckles, as well as straight red hair.
However, it was the boy sitting across from them that caught his eye. They were a young man of 17 of a strong build with tan skin and messy, black hair. The feature that stood out the most, however, was the lightening bolt shaped scar on his head
Draco was his exact opposite in terms of looks. He had a thin build, pale skin, and straight blond hair.
"Excuse me, Gryffindors." He said as he opened the compartment door. "But is this car full?"
"Draco!" The tan boy stood up and embraced him fondly.
"Hello, Harry." Draco greeted him, returning the gesture. He then cupped his cheek and kissed him gently
The girl smiled sweetly at them while the boy sitting next to her looked uncomfortably out the window.
Draco pulled away from Harry and smiled at the other two. "And hello to you too, Ron and Hermione."
"Hello, Draco." Hermione greeted, her brown eyes sparkling with warmth.
"Hey." Ron said, turning away from the window.
"So, how was your guy's Winter Holidays?" Draco asked.
"Good." Hermione said. "I got several new books. And a new stationary set."
"Mine was good." Said Ron. "I got a new Quidditch uniform. Well, not new...Mum made it herself."
"I spent it in the cupboard again." Harry said to no one's surprise. "But I did get some of Dudley's old clothes."
Hermione and Ron looked at him with sorry expressions.
Draco simply threw his arms around Harry and said, "Don't worry, Lion Cub. Once we are married, I shall spoil you like the prince you are."
"Thanks, Sneky Snek." Harry smiled.
Hermione couldn't help but smile at how adorable they were. Ron, on the other hand, wasn't as used to this.
They spent the rest of the time talking, joking, and enjoying sweets from off the trolley. Well, all of them except Draco, who looked out the window. No matter how hard he tried he just couldn't get the thought of his dream from the night before out of his mind.
A few hours later, after the sun had set over the mountains, the train pulled into the Hogwarts station.
"Come on." Harry said, getting his trunk. "Let's go."
Hermione and Ron nodded and grabbed their trunks as well. Together the three of them started to get off the train when Harry noticed someone was missing.
"Draco." He called back to his love. "Come on."
Draco snapped out of it and turned away from the window, getting up and grabbing his things.
He left the compartment and Harry smiled at him, taking his hand.
Together the four friends headed off towards the school.
