As soon as Draco was ready, the two boys made their way to the Great Hall for breakfast.

"Morning, Harry." Hermione called as they approached the Gryffindor table. "Morning, Draco."

"Morning, Hermione." Draco said, smiling at her.

"Morning." Harry greeted, trying to sound cheerful.

"What's wrong, Mate?" Ron asked.

"Nothing. Just tired." Harry admitted, sitting down. "I had to comfort Draco last night. He had a nightmare."

"Oh no." Pansy said, looking to Draco. "What about?"

"Nothing." Draco told her. "It's not important anymore."

Just then, there was the sound of screeching and everyone in the Great Hall turned to see the mail flying in, being carried by owls. The magnificent birds were soaring over head, dropping letters to several of the students; one of whom was Draco.

A silvery-grey owl landed on the table, in front of Draco, and presented him with a letter.

"Thank you, Polaris." He smiled, taking the letter and petting the bird.

The bird cooed before ruffling its feathers and flying off.

"So, that was your family's owl?" Harry asked.

"Yeah." Draco said. "She's a good bird. Very loyal." He took a look at the letter in his hand and didn't like what he saw. The letter was in a red envelope and to a wizard, that meant only one thing.

"Oh no." Ron said, looking at the letter in Draco's hands. "Looks like you got a howler, Mate."

"Who's it from?" Harry asked. "Your mom?"

"Worse." Draco said, dread creeping into his voice. "Look at the address. It says Azkaban Prison. It's from my Father."

At this Harry looked at Draco in shock. "You don't think he found out about us, do you?"

"One way to find out." Taking a deep breath, Draco opened the letter and prepared himself for the worst.

"DRACO LUCIUS MALFOY! HOW DARE YOU ABANDON SLYTHERIN! AND FOR WHAT REASON?! BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE GRYFFINDOR TO BE BETTER THAN SLYTHERIN! IF I WASNT AT THIS HELL OF A PRISON, I WOULD ACCIO YOU RIGHT TO THE MANNOR AND BEAT SOME SENSE INTO YOU WITH MY CANE! HONESTLY! DO YOU EVEN REALIZE HOW BIG OF A DISGRACE THIS IS TO OUR FAMILY NAME?!"

By this point, Draco was close to tears.  Grabbing the letter, he started to rip it to shreds in anger and embarrassment.

"Draco?" Harry asked, leaning in to comfort him. "Are you ok?"

"Fine." Draco said. "I, um, I need to use the restroom." He then got up and started for the door.

"Draco!" Harry called, getting up and chasing after him.
